Oh, and Congrats on picking up your new MINI later this week! (yes, pics are required )

YES! "MINI-Anon" it is. Please grant me the serenity to hold out 4 more days, and the courage to keep it under 4500 RPM's for the first 1200 miles.

MINI @ the Dealership

Well I had to share pictures, since we all enjoy looking at them. My MA sent these to me. It won't hold me over. Too bad I might have a good month until the car comes, that means I will get to share photos again.

In our case, it was more an issue of jealousy (okay, maybe the sharing thing too). As soon as I decided that I was going to replace my car with a MINI, my husband started looking for a MINI. Now, get this - had I bought anything else, he wouldn't have a MINI. But he said that I wasn't going to have a MINI without him having one. And you're correct, he bought his off of the lot when he saw one that appealed to him. Me, I thought it would be much more cool to have something that from the day it was built was intended just for me. Maybe that's just a girl (or psychology professor) thing. And, I thought the whole waiting and tracking thing would be cool too. WHAT WAS I THINKING?! Just kidding. This has been a good experience, and I'm a little over 7/8 of the way there, so not too much longer now.

I don't understand -- these are pictures of someone else's MINI that your MA sent you?

That's just cruel.

Happens to be the same color combo I'm getting, though the webspokes were out of my league, price-wise. So therefore it makes my eyes happy.

In '95 I bought a Saturn, and my wife bought a Saturn.

In '03 I bought a Monte Carlo, and in '04 my wife bought a Monte Carlo.

In '05 I am buying a MINI . . . =o) (Who knows?!)

I agree 100%! The really sad thing is...we don't mind it! Think about it for a moment...
We order our cars and then we look at other MINI photos as much as we can, to the point of pain knowing we can't get our own yet. (Thank stevenjc for this line of reasoning) We put ourselves through this pain willingly ! I think that borders on masochism myself, but I'm hardly objective in my thinking. I looked at absolutely every MINI pic I could, especially the ones with my color combo (CR/W).
Now THAT'S cruel...

Tazminia & rsinheimer-

NO It is my car! I live in CA and I bought out of state to avoid mark-ups. There is a group of people from CA that ordered from the same dealership, so the truck will bring our MINIs at the same time. The reason why it will take about a month is because some of the people's cars are just arriving to the port.

I may risk exposing my level of obsession with this admission, but here goes. Before ordering my MINI, I spent a couple of hours each night looking at the galleries on this site. Not just some of them, but every last one of them. And then, I went through all of the MINI resumes in the OL.

I might have one on ya Deb...when we called our MA to finally order our MINI, she looked in her computer and found our names from a year ago. Everything was basically the same as back then too. Same color, same type (non-S) and same extras...
Only now, when we are less than 48 hours from picking our car up, are we having second thoughts about color choice. (go figure, huh) We fear getting up there and falling in love with all the OTHER colors available to us. (hence thinking ahead to the next MINI)
Oh we are a sad lot indeed.

Also, I think you counted mine and multiplied by 2 to come up with that answer.
Either way..it sounds like we both get to play with our new toys VERY soon!
Congrats to ya April.

A good friend of mine just finished my mix CD to play in my MINI when it arrives...he title it "MINI Cooper, I love you"

I'm not supposed to play it until I'm driving home from the dealer...no clue what's on it..but he promised no banjo music.

On another note...my home renovations are going smoothly...there's a huge hole in my sunroom..and the carpenter is adding flood lights to guide my MINI into the driveway. Did I tell you my neighbors are accusing me of fixing up my house BECAUSE of my MINI?
