| 05 BRG MCS | Whoaaaa. Glad you two are ok... freaky. So far in this post, there have been two brand new Mini's hit by stray Truck Tire Re-treads, and an Sebring hit by the actual truck. I hope we're all done with this... April is right, you deserve a Mini... randy |

Offline | I called my dealer b/c the OL said that the expected delivery was today. They said that was the day that THEY expected to recieve it. Then they needed a day to get it ready for me. I think it's like a doctors appointment. You will receive your MINI no EARLIER than that date ![]() So....I'm still waiting with a duffle bag of stuff to transfer over to my MINI and I've actually reserved time during each day this week to escape to get it! Offline | MINI North Scottsdale Hi again - brief note in response to your questions. 1. No freebies available. 2. Make sure they get it right as they forgot things 3. $1600 tax to AZ, $310 to County/City for taxes, + dealer prep fee + other fees (no extended warranty, etc.) to the 20500 car to 23K+ 4. 4/7 arrived at Port H. (see previous posts) 4/13 maybe left VDC, hard to say, arrival at dealership 4/15, didn't call me un 4/16. pick up 4/17 - plan on one hour and interruptions from prospective customers and people who perceive your car is a demo and want to poke & prod, sit and recline, etc. Can't blame them and ended up answering questions myself Busy is the word to describe MNS and the interior design was fun Hope this helps - back to work - Scott |

Offline | Hey Dave, I've been checking the San Diego port website (which WAS my best info source) frequnetly over the weekend, but they did not update until this morning. When they did, there was no mention of NYK Capricornus Leader. I took a few calming deep breaths, then phoned the NYK RO/RO division, and timidly inquired whether Capricornus Leader had discharged autos at Port Hueneme... They said YES I'll be speaking with my MA at South Bay MINI later today, to see if she's got any additional info about delivery time, but at leats we know "our ship has come in"... _Dave_ |

Offline | Thanks so much for the info, Dave. The time draws nigh! Out of curiosity, have you been asked about the personalized settings yet? I've noticed that some others here have received a survey asking them how they want certain items on their Mini configured. We haven't received that survey yet. I guess we'll settle it all at the dealer. Let's keep in touch through the next few days. Any and all information greatly appreciated. We can compare notes on the time it takes to get from the dock to the VDC and finally the dealer. I can smell that new car smell already. I'll be happy to bug my MA for some of these milestones and report back here if you think yours is getting thin on patience ![]() Dave |

Offline | Personalized settings I was preemptive with the programmable settings - I printed out the file that someone posted here with the '05 options, highlighted the ones I wanted to change from default, and brought it to my MA a couple of weeks ago. Even then, there was some confusion about which ones applied to the convertible... The dealer has my choices, and we'll see what happens. Regarding being contacted, I have yet to be contacted by MINI about anything. (They did send me a few junk emails before I decided to purchase...) My dealer has responded to some inquiries I've made, but I've been the "aggressive" one in this relationship... I just called ASKMINI, and checked the Owners Lounge website, but both still list Murray as enroute/in transit, with no estimated delivery date. I'll check in again after I talk with my MA... _Dave_ |

Offline | I'm (supposedly) on the same boat (scheduled NYK Capricornus Leader drop at Port Hueneme on Sunday). I purchased through MINI of Murray in Salt Lake City, and I was supposed to be unloaded yesterday (although no confirmation as of yet). I got an email asking about my settings a couple of weeks ago. I'm totally interested in hearing the status. My OL status is still "en route" both on the web and on the phone, but we all know that's a bit behind, right? If anyone on the same boat hears an update, let's post it here, eh? - Pete |

Offline | Murray's on a truck! This is confirmation that NYK Capricornus Leader did in fact discharge MINIs at Port Hueneme, CA on Sunday, April 18. I was just collecting all my notes to call my MA, when my phone rang... The first thing she said was, "How did you do it?!". She then old me that my MINI had already cleared the VDC and was on a truck to South Bay MINI in Torrance. It's expected to arrive tomorrow! [calming breaths aren't working...] [here it comes...] WAH-HOO! That's a little better... I guess the elves at the VDC are working extra-hard to get the delayed MINIs out the door and into the tender hands of their owners-to-be. (Okay, I gotta lay off the cuteness.... ) Anyway, West Coast MINIs that sailed from Southampton on March 18, have arrived at the Port Hueneme VDC. _Dave_ Last edited by am0eba : Apr 18th, 2005 at 11:20 PM. Offline | Wow! That was fast! I've got a call into my MA (always get voicemail) and am waiting for a return call regarding some accessories I want them to install. Dunno if anyone else has the same kind of luck with their MA but I've left this guy 3 messages over 4 days and not a single return call. ![]() Anyway, you must be stoked! Congrats on getting it so quickly! I'm looking forward to pictures and the delivery story once your new Mini is parked in your driveway. Dave |

Offline | expected delivery date passes.... Had a long terrible day at work. Waited until 6:30 to call the MINI dealership. Talked with someone and she said that she didn't know if my car was there or not, but would have someone call me back tomorrow. I didn't think she understood how much I was looking forward to my car. She said "Jon will be back next week, did you want to get your car before then?" So I'm not exactly sure if there is a particular MA looking out for me or not. |

| Dead Man's Curve? Feh. | What she forgot to add was: "If you're interested in a reminder of what you ordered, we do have a very nice silver convertible that just arrived and we've put it into service for a week as a demo. It's out right now, but you could come in tomorrow and see if it's available." ![]() |

Offline | OMG you're unbelievably cruel....I love it! Too Funny!! Ken, when that dense MA asked you if you wanted your MINI before your MA got back (like this is even a question when it involves a week?!), how did you not slightly raise your voice and say "OF COURSE I WANT MY MINI!"? Surely they realize we all have sweated bullets over the weeks, days, hours and even minutes until we can take ownership... Sheeeeeeesh Oh, I got to steal the wifes car this afternoon and just tooled around in it for a few hours. I think I've stopped at almost every human beings house in my town to show it off. Next, I invade other towns... |
