Offline | Finally called a 4th time and told the nice girl on the other end of the phone, who once again wanted to patch me through to voicemail, that I was not pleased at being blown off for 4 days and to PLEASE tell Jon to call me ASAP. 5 minutes later...boom...phone call. No news. He thought that maybe the boat had made it in but would offer no more details than that. Some dealer policy about being vague, perhaps? Should I eat this poor guy's lunch or let is pass? It bugs me when people won't play straight with me. Anyway, no word on whether I'm at the VDC or even off the boat. Seems he didn't have any desire to actually check into the details. ABQ is a fair distance away and requires some trip planning, so some kind of idea of whether this weekend is doable or next would be helpful. If I hear anything further I'll post it here. Dave |

Offline | Ken, have you tried talking to the sales manager? I think most dealers have someone in this position, who can handle individual cases in detail when the MA is not available. _Dave_ |

Offline | whew! okay..then the good news..just a few minutes ago the finance manager called and said "Your car just came in..it does exist. What's your Wednesday looking like" and I said "It's looking like I'm going to get a mini...How's 4pm?" So...looks like I'm getting my MINI at 4pm on Wednesday! |

Offline | Yeah, sorry 'bout that. I intended to go look it up, but got distracted. When I went to look for it just now, I realized that I found it on (gasp) another MINI forum... There's a thread with good info at North American Motoring: http://www.northamericanmotoring.com...t=programmable It includes the post with the file version of the programmable option checklist PDF: http://www.bergin.us/MINI_Programmable_options.pdf Hope this helps! _Dave_ |

Offline | Thanks, Scott. Since your car arrived in port on 4/7 and mine on 4/17 (I hope), that probably means I'm less than ten days from delivery. Your taxes and fees sound about right. It irks me to pay the doc fee, I've probably had 30 new cars and never paid one before-- but, then, I've never paid MSRP before, either! I've been to the dealership three or four times, they were busy every time, and I was the one interrupting deliveries-- so I know what to expect there. Debi told me she'd call me about two weeks out to "finalize the details", but I think it's more likely I'll get a call the day before delivery like you did. She's a nice lady, but not very reliable when it comes to phone calls and follow-up. Since I want the window tinting (assuming they'll do it for the price the Huper Optik rfep says they should), I'll have to give her a call to get that set up. Motor on! Denny |

Offline | Still No CAll From My MA Well, our car was on the Andes Highway. The OL says delivery date of 4/18. I'm so bummed because my MA didn't call me today and tell me it had arrived. We wanted to get it this weekend. I don't know how long it will take for the dealer to put the bonnet stripes on it and get it ready. The wait is awful. |

Offline | I've been lurking on this thread for the last month, but I finally felt the need to post. I called my MA today and he said that our MINI should arrive @ the VDC tomorrow. Unless it gets released and shipped to the dealer by Thursday, my wife and I will have to wait until next weekend to pick it up. I haven't been this excited about a purchase since I bought my car 6 years ago. The MINI will be my wife's car, but I seem to be the one losing sleep waiting for it to show up. It really is adult Christmas. Congrats to all who are motoring already! |

Offline | well..not much..I teach until right before I pick up the car..then I have to turn right back around and go back to campus for an Awards Ceremony. But it will make driving back home fantastic. To me the idea of driving with the top down at night seems like a wonderful thing. Thanks for posting the list of programable options..I think I'm actually fine with everything that's preprogrammed. All they have to do is add the IPOD adapter to my car and I'm on my way. I didn't get much dealer installed stuff. |

Offline | Ken, that's great news. You're getting your Mini before mine and mine arrived a couple of days earlier Don't feel bad. I also get the feeling they don't want me around unless I'm throwing gobs of cash around....Wait, I am doing that - I'm spending a lot on a new car Anyway, congrats on "the call" |

Offline | Ken, My current car is a Miata, and there are few better things in life than driving with the top down on a clear night. Enjoy your first night with your new "baby." Ted |

Offline | btdoyle, the S does come standard with with the Sport Plus suspension. Ken, the iPod adapter is way cool. I bought a 40GB photo for it and have been up late almost every night for two weeks trying to organize all my music files and rate them so i only hear the best stuff. I needed another obsession after i got my car, so i also took it upon myself to re-rip every CD i had at 190k .I've already been challenged to street race twice now and ive only had it a week. I think people see the two tail pipes as they appraoch from behind and just assume that i'm ready to punch it and throw caution to the wind. ![]() |

Offline | First off...Welcome to our little corner of the forums.. Second, You are not alone with what you have been through. I too, bought the MINI for my wife but was more nerve-wracked than she was over all the little details and the timing of it all. (I spent untold time looking at the OL and calling ASKMINI) Hey, it's what we do. She's happy..therefore..I'm happy ![]() |

| 05 BRG MCS | Great work... what a proud dad... this is so cool to see everybody getting their cars. I've bought plenty of new cars in my day and I can say I've never felt this kind of anxiety and excitement before. I think having all of us in the same state of mind has made it even that much better... This has been a great experience... and I don't even have the car yet... To all my brothers and sisters... Let's motor ! ![]() randy |
