Offline | Hi, again, everyone. Just checking in after first oil service. All went well, and nary a mention of my mods (15% pulley and a CAI)--Kudos to East Bay BMW for being down! It's great to drop off the car, have it serviced, and pay NOTHING! Ha, Ha! So, at 10,500+ miles, no problems, and I'm still having a great time. Strangers still come up and ask about the car--yes, even here in MINI Nation, USA (AKA, "California"). They want to know about the gas mileage, the price, the quality, the room, etc. Sometimes, the conversations last for 15 or 20 minutes! So where to go from here? I reckon I'll just keep on Motoring, but I'm kinda jonesing for some more go-fast mods. I'm thinking chip (Shark Injector?) and, maybe, a Miltek exhaust. Oh, one other significant Motoring milestone: My daughter Elizabeth will turn one year old on August 5th, which means that I'll be able to turn her seat around so that it is facing forward. In other words, I'll be able to move the front passenger seat back a little more. Right now, it's almost all of the way forward because of the child seat. BTW, it has been great with MINI and child; I really relish Motoring somewhere with the whole family, arriving at our destination, getting out of the car, pulling out the child acoutrements (stroller, supplies, etc.)--to the astonishment of the SUV owners. Yes, the MINI is a GREAT family car! Well, nice checking in with you all. Take care! |

| Loves the Fuzzy One | I think this was the chattiest production group ever. ![]() Just a sad update, the car I was tracking here is now for sale on Ebay. Sad as that is, you just can't keep them all. I'm now in the March 2008 production group for my new Clubman. ![]() ![]() Global Moderator |

| Dead Man's Curve? Feh. | A rumble from the past. We still have the one we bought in '05, but time may be short. After 5 years I'm getting a little MINI'd out - don't find the redesigned MINIs and the Clubman to be especially attractive, so we're on the verge of selling it. Maybe when the weather finally improves my attitude will as well, but right now it's looking like the MINI ride may be coming to an end. Seriously looking at the BMW 135i though. |

Offline | Ltns Wow, you folks are still using this thread? TOO COOL! It's been a verrrry long while since I was here and I realized I missed saying howdy to everyone now and then. So...Howdy ![]() We traded in our 05 Mini for our new 08 Jeep Patriot last September (I think) and while we love our Jeep a LOT, we still miss the Mini something fierce. Hence: This summer or fall, we will be looking into getting the wife another Mini but with a few changes, such as going automatic this time. 5 speed was fun but in town got to be tiresome. The automatic should cure that problem. Only requirement we have is the heated seats (our Pat has them too, like our old Mini did). For budgets sake, we will probably look into a used one since most everyone I've ever talked to, or knew from in here, took such good care of their Minis that I would feel safe getting an older model. Maybe staying with an 05 again or 06. Anyhow, I just wanted to stop in again and say hello and that I really REALLY enjoyed my time here. I look forward to stopping in again to announce our re-purchase, See ya 'round folks, Randy (Tazminia) ![]() |
