Offline | I've just received a phone call from my dealership (bridgegate Derby) saying that my Mini One expected for delivery on the eighth of March is now down for the 15th of April due to a delay at the factory. Suffice to say its not put me in the best of moods as I'm having trouble with the wait as it is and have no other car in the mean time. Anyway seeing as some people on here work at the Oxford plant I was wondering if you have any info regarding this delay or is my dealer just covering for a **** up on their end? Apart from that seeing as this is my first post I guess I'll say Hi and of course the mandatory spec sheet. Offline | I'm with ya there.....should've picked mine up yesterday, that got put back to 29th March, now due 14th April! ![]() Not sure for the reasoning for delay on yours but i know mine was due to dealer allocation. I ordered last October and they assumed they'd get allocated enough S's to guarentee March delivery, they didn't so its April now. |

Offline | Why do Mini treat us in the UK like the poor relations? Strange....exactly the same thing has happened to me. I ordered my MCS September. First they said delivery end of January, then Feb, then March and now......April 15 at the latest. I thought the dealers were messing me around - but maybe it is a factory problem after all. The Sales Manager has said she will try to hurry things along but I'm not holding my breath seeing I've had to wait so long already. At least I realise others are in the same boat. Talking of boats, why oh why are our American friends given so much better service by Mini than us in the UK? I haven't even got a VIN number yet! No car could be more English than the Mini and yet we are treated like the poor relations. Is there more profit for Mini in their export allocation to the USA and Europe than to us home buyers? Feeling a bit moany today... Sorry.. but I feel really strongly about this. Does anyone else agree? Caz |

Offline | I know exactly where you're coming from! It does seem that our American friends seem to get their cars quicker and easier than we do. I'd have thought, with the strong value of the quid, Mini wouldn't make that much profit in the States?! Saying that, there is the possibilty of shifting far more cars over there. Maybe that's why?Still....waiting aint that bad.....is it! ![]() |

Offline | Glad you agree Scotty G. Thought more people would have an opinion on this. Maybe when they get their minis they don't care about that side of things anymore! Perhaps I'll be the same...just have to have a moan while I'm waiting. ![]() |

| Having a Mini Adventure!! | When we first spoke to our dealer he said the delivery was running at about 6 weeks for the Cooper we were looking at buying, but in the month it's taken us to get the finances sorted (read 'remortgage the house in order to buy a Mini!' lol!! ) the delivery has risen to 9 1/2 weeks! Aaaarrgh!!! I'm not the most patient of people, and my current car (Daewoo Matiz) has had no heater for the past 18 months (and it's freezing on the 1/2 hour drive to work atm!), so it's really killing me to have to wait, but I know it will be worth it in the end!!! (As long as I dont catch pneumonia in the meantime! Lol!) Anyhows, best share the spec Mini Cooper Chilli Pack Electric Blue Black Roof Electric Sunroof Black Bonnet stripes Black Heated electric fold away door mirrors Darkened Rear Glass 5 spoke 16" Alloy wheels Sport 3 spoke steering wheel Full Leather Profile Ports seats Chrono Pack Chrome Line Interior / Exterior Boosted Radio Cassette Harman/Kardon 8 speaker hifi 6 Disk CD bootchanger Should be the ideal Girl Racer car!! Offline | You have me scared now... Ok, now that I am hearing these storys about delays you have me worried. I just phoned in my wifes Mini order last thursday (3/6) but I recieved a production number. If I am reading correctly, does that mean it may be 2 days short of forever before ours actually begins production? I was told the estimated time was going to be 6 to 8 weeks but I don't see how that could be. As for being treated like a second cousin, I agree with you. It sure seems odd that they cannot care for the home people first. (it really makes no sense at all) I just wish they would be more realistic on time frames (no matter which side of the pond we are on) so there is less disappointment. I believe the delays only serve to create a tension on the trust between the customer and the dealership, and who the heck wants that?! I'll keep this section posted as the the time frames of each step. Maybe it will give a timeline for those interested. BTW, our mini specs aren't dazzling, but they are ours CR/W white wheels Premium package Cold weather package Grey/black seats aux input (my only request on my wifes car) Take heart, one day we'll all be owners before long! |

| -Mr T- | I'm in Oz and ordered late December and was told April would probably be delivery month. Middle January I was told delivery would be May. I have a VIN number and it is scheduled to leave Southampton on 11th March. It seems weird to me that it seems to be taking longer for those in the U.K. to get their cars when we have about an 8 week delivery time (boat and truck) I actually conducted a poll a while ago to find out various waiting times for different places in the world and you guys had one of the longest waits.. Mick BTW I'm waiting for a CR/W MCS with electric sunroof, anthracite roof lining, body colour dash, the Oz chilli pack, 5 star billets and white bonnet stripes. |

| Motoring with Audrey | sorry to hear about all the delays. I've recently hit one as well. Though it took less then a month for mine to be ordered, built, and transported to the ship yard. Which is where my delay begins. I do not think I was put on the vessel I was suppose to be, so here I am waiting for it to be loaded. Not sure of any other info at the moment. |

Offline | I think it must depend on what production slots the dealer has. I ordered mine of Feb 14th and just at three weeks later it entered production (and will be completed tomorrow, Mar 15th). Another MINI-to-be owner that I was just reading about ordered his two days before me, and it sounds like his went into production almost immediately and is already on its way here. Your dealer should be able to tell you approximately when it will go into production. From what I've been reading, it seems more like the holdups come at the ship yard when they are waiting for a boat. I hope that's not the case though! I've been trying to be patient and positive. By the way, your MINI sounds quite dazzling to me! |

Offline | Thanks dpacker, we hope it'll dazzle us too. A quick update; our Mini is in production already (we think we hit like you mentioned..at a lucky timeframe) and it is scheduled to be done on March 17th. From there-also like you mentioned-it may be a waiting game to actually hop a boat to cross the pond on.I called today and spoke to a human for the first time and they told me "I hope you like the color because it's in the paint shop now and it can be any color you want as long as it's Chili Red." *getting REAL anxious now* Let's hope for smooth seas and a following wind for our cars! |
