Offline | Pete, I think what Jim was trying to say is to call 1-866-ASK MINI (1-866-275-6464). They may be able to give you a numeric status of your vehicle. Then see the FAQs as reposted to see where you are. Enjoy. |

Offline | Jim, Thanks. I saw that post and in fact printed it off for reference...but I don't see those numeric codes in any of my contacts with MINIUSA, and the customer relations folks never mentioned them. I suppose it's something I have to ask for when I have them on the line since they are for internal use..? I'll try that next time I call. Thanks again. Pete |

Offline | Sorry for the assumption on my part. I checked, and you are correct about the codes. Those were insider information, and the codes are not used any more. That is what I get for thinking of the last MINI. Good news is that they are getting the cars out to shipping quite rapidly. A coworker told me last Monday that his car was at the docks in New York. He was quite surprised when I told him that I had seen it at the dealer the previous Saturday. Boy, did he dive for the phone! The cars are getting to the dealers before the update posts about unloading.. You are about the same road miles from New York as we are, so it looks good for you. Our MINI came in at least one to two weeks before the prediction. Hope to see you at "Minis on Top" in June? Jim ![]() |

| Loves the Fuzzy One | I just finished tracking my new MINI, I'm in the March production group. For status, the automated line is supposed to give you your status, ie, paint shop, body shop, etc, but it is running a bit behind right now. If you talk to a live person, they can look up the status of your car. Jim is correct about the numeric codes, the person at ASKMINI said those codes are no longer used. ![]() ![]() Global Moderator |

Offline | Doh! Wow, a major event relatively near my hometown of Stowe, Vermont! I guess our participation depends on when we take delivery of our Mini... Thanks for the heads up. |

Offline | To answer questions about placement in the production line: At first, the car enters production but does not enter any of the "shops." At this stage, it just says that the car has entered production with a production date of ___. Once the car enters a "shop" (body, then paint, then assembly) the MINIUSA representatives will be able to tell you where it is. They have the most up to date information of any tracking resource. The automated system on the hotline is about 2 days behind the live person. Usually miniusa.com is about 4 days behind the live person. Hopefully that clears things up. On another note - anyone on the Morning Melody should be happy to note that the ship is still scheduled to dock tomorrow, with no changes. Maybe we'll start recieving our cars late in the week or early next week? |

![]() maker of trouble | Mr & Mrs April - does this mean we'll actually meet this time?!?!? After a year - it's about time!!! I knew you wanted to order - but I've been neglecting the boards and came in at the end... What a surprise - yellow!!! Are you getting daisy wheels for this car? Next time we do our Pines run you'll have to come (it went really well - had a blast with 30 odd MINIs and 1 Mini) See you in 2 months!!! I don't know what is worse - waiting for Matt to get his latest car - or waiting for MOT - which is a blast in and of itself! (Matt says the car - and right now - I have to agree - especially since he's been driving mine since his made friends with the concrete barrier) Regardless - I hate this waiting stuff - by the third time it should be old-hat - but it isn't!!! And since they've switched up tracking since the last one - it really is nail biting! It also doesn't help that the production times vary so drastically... For example - Mine - ordered 12-30-03; built in May, delivered 3-27-04 - 3 months... Matt_1 - ordered memorial day 04; built in June, delivered July 3, 04 (basically 5 weeks from order to delivery since it sat on the dealer's lot for a week before they decided to call us)... Matt_2 - ordered 4-1-05, built in April, delivered - ???? It's supposed to be done 4-28 then head for the ocean - but who knows... Just goes to show that every car is a little different - but it's the most fun waiting!!! Sorry for the ramble - just got back from a run in NY - only 3 hrs away from home - gone for 14 hrs and just a little loopy! Probably better than it could be - but still long and rambling! H Hmmmmm |

Offline | Is the processing center really that much of a black hole? My Mini was dropped off on US soil Sunday in NY. I'm hoping above all hope, that it's sitting on my dealer's floor for Saturday (Mini of Peabody), but I'm curious how realistic this is... Is it possible for a Mini to clear processing in 3 days and travel a 4 hour drive in 2 days? |

![]() maker of trouble | It is very possible - and from what I understand they are now moving them through the VDC really fast - so that they don't have a lot of things sitting around... Which is really great compared to last year when mine sat there for over a week!!! Good luck - and keep those fingers crossed!!! Hmmmmm |

Offline | Wow, that's really nice to hear! Our Mini got bumped forward when several others waiting for the HK upgrade were put back. I feel vaguely sorry for that, as if our good fortune came at the expense of others I might very well meet on the road someday, but I console myself with the thought that once I get behind the wheel I probably won't mind anymore! And now the dreaded VDC bottleneck appears to have been settled... Here's hoping for a becalmed Atlantic next month! ![]() |

Offline | That's excellent to hear that my Mini stands to be in my possession by the week's end! I'm even more glad that I decided to go aftermarket ICE instead of the HK system. That's pretty rough news for those who selected that option ![]() Saturday will be a motoring day! (so excited ) |

Offline | Is the HK upgrade something that gets installed at the factory in the UK or at the distribution center in North Carolina? I chose this option but I'm not sure if I missed this apparent hiccup, my car is scheduled to arrive in NC this friday. |

Offline | There was a fire at the HK plant which has set them back at least a month. They are installed at the factory. Nothing is installed at the VPC (vehicle processing center) except for faulty parts or ECU updates. This is usually where the bottleneck occurs at the VPC, but since all seems to be well as far as recalls and faults, which is why things seem to be running smoothly. My MCS was unloaded today in NYC! |

![]() maker of trouble | Hey - I just found out that my order got screwed up - and they didn't put the h/k in the order... Which is why we're now no longer looking forward to Thurs - when the car was supposed to be finished... So now we're just waiting to hear what will come next...if they can retro-fit or if they are going to make it up to him somehow - nothing like screwing up your third car!!! So - I'm going to hide from the forums - since I will no longer be an April build date... ugh good luck and happy motoring!!! h Hmmmmm |
