Well, I was told my mini was scheduled for production in early April, and it is now mid-April and I am yet to hear anything from the dealer... Is anyone else not getting updates on the progress of their Mini?

I had no updates from the dealer at all. I called on friday and they told me the car had arrived, although it was not scheduled production until next week last time I spoke to them!

From my experience, you need to call the dealer, and be on their backs all the time.

I looked on WW website this morning and it shows that the tasakago left southampton today. My cars status is still Recieved at terminal... does this mean i missed the boat???
Anyone else on the tasakago have a status other than 'recieved at terminal'

Hey Cory-
if your coming to the west coast, your probably on a K-Line ship. cannot track that on WW. i hear there is a K-Line that left Friday and another leaving monday. My Coop is also waiting for a vessel at the port.

Yep, sounds like you may not be taking the Takasago. My MINI is booked on that ship, and on the site it lists:

Possibly not though, My JB/W MC is showing the same status but when you look at the booking number details all of the MINI's loaded on board seem to be showing the same thing...or perhaps i am just getting my hopes up....

I absolutely agree with what Matfrost is saying. Buying in the UK can be a big challenge (much easier if you live across the pond). As one (now very happy) MCS owner who took delivery on Friday after seven and a half months wait and complete lack of communication from the deaIer I agree you should keep calling them. It didn't improve my situation because despite promises to the contrary I still had to wait a very very long time. However the past is the past and she drives like a dream...............well worth the wait and stress

I basically was bored/curious so i looked through all of the MINI's listed for the booking #GBSOU307478 until i found mine, and all of the listings show something like this:

VIN RECEIVED AT TERMINAL SOUTHAMPTON 15/04/2005 07:46

Some have a (*) after the VIN that shows them on waitlist status and i look through a few of the individual VIN's and found that they all say "RECEIVED AT TERMINAL" as the last thing.

After ordering my mini February 25th my mini has finally entered production!
he's due to be completed 4/26! with that time frame does anybody have a guess as to when I might be able to expect him here on the West Coast? I know the FAQ says 4-6 weeks but I'm hoping sooner!

I'll third this opinion. I ordered my MCC late January and was given a due date of 23 April, which has since been pushed up to "on or around" 17 April according to Damon Hill. I have found that since placing the order I do have to phone up and often to change spec and for any updates; I think they've stopped checking their emails from me

It hasn't been enough to peeve me outright, and going into the dealership has been pleasant enough. But it does try my patience sometimes if I think about it too much!

Somewhat unsurprisingly, no car today, and my salesperson couldn't check the DB on the car's updated ETA... I find it somewhat silly that the database takes Sundays off while the dealership is open doing business

So fingers crossed that it will be in tomorrow so I can take it up to mikeythemini for an IceLink install on Tuesday. Otherwise I suspect it'll end in tears.

Out of curiosity, is it common for new UK Mini orders to receive their registration plates just before the car's arrival? I received the VIN just under a week ago, but it's useless for buying car insurance online.

Got an update today that although my MINI was due yesterday, but in actuality just had its paint job. No idea when it's due now other than sometime-the-end-of-this-week.

I'm depressed now.

I've been gone for a few days but got a great suprise when I just checked W&W. WOOHOO I did make the Takasago.
I had actually given up hope since I had been waitlisted, unwaitlisted and then unable to check. Only 9 days til my MINI reaches SC!!!

Do any of you know what vessel she will be loaded on? I've been checking and search by VIN returns nothing at WW's site.

My car arrived at the port yesterday, the 18th. WW shows a ship leaving today, the 19th and another leaving on Thursday or Friday. Hopefully there will be room for both of us. Jeff.
