Offline | shipping from Motorwerks Mini Minnesota (MN) Anyone out there order their car from Motorwerks Mini in Minnesota and have it shipped out of state. I am trying to get some feedback from people who have used shipping companies. I live in Seattle and I am really torn over what to do when my MCS arrives in May. I would like to have it shipped here to me, but don't know if i want to risk it getting banged up by the shippers. But then driving back from MN also has its drawbacks, one time, two road wear (rock chips etc) and three an improper break-in process (I have heard that when breaking in you should really try to vary the speed etc to get a proper engine breakin). Anyways... thought this would be a great place to track someone down who went the ship route and even better someone who shipped from Motorwerks. Thanks for your help in advance |

Offline | Shipping from Motorwerks I order a MINI from Motorwerks the same day you did and it is now "waiting for transport". Amy Marver, my salesperson, mentioned one or two transport companies on whom she had reports of good service. Maybe we could think about cutting cost by shipping both cars on the same truck. The alternative is driving home on secondary roads rather than the freeway. Slower, but a nice way to see the country. You can reach me at 206 226-6717. -- Bob McGrath |

Offline | Hey Guys, I ordered mine through Amy as well. I live in Los Angeles. I forget the name of the trucking company she mentioned, but I guess I should get that ball rolling. I did have dreams of driving it back west, but didn't want to risk the damage to the engine. The only thing I remember was that it cost $850 which seemed like a bargain. |
