Offline | Changed to "Scheduled for Production" but no date? Wow! Mini changed last night from On Order to Scheduled for production but I don't see a date anywhere. Also it added a VIN number. This happened late last night so what gives, are they working on a Saturday night?! Again, anyone else who wishes to share, I have a production number of 67678XX and ASK -MINI says that it could go into production around MAY 6th. I'm trying to figure out if these production numbers are actually the order that they are built. QUICK QUESTION! I ended up buying my MINI from an out of town dealer, but will have it serviced locally. MY in town dealer said that if I order it from out of town I do not get a free loaner during service calls, but if ordered through them I do. Anyone else know if this "free loaner" is a dealer to dealer thing or a standard MINI perk? |

Offline | I did the same thing - live in Philadelphia area and bought the car in Connecticut in order to have it 2 - 21/2 months sooner. I understand that i can get it serviced @ any MINI dealer under the warranty, but unfortunately I'll only be able to get a loaner from the dealer I bought it from (obviously don't plan to get oio changes in CT!) I figured this to be part of the "cost" of getting my precious MINI for the summer - YEY!! - instead of getting it just in time for the cold weather! -Genevieve |

Offline | Week 22-please start earlier!! Mini USA rep I talked to today said the Oxford plant runs two shifts, so they are working almost 24/7 on cars. (I was surprised by that.) So there might have been someone around on a Saturday to update the system! |

Offline | WooHoo Mini In Production Wow! I called 1-866-ASK-MINI and found out our Mini went into production on April 29th! We placed the order on April 26th! He laid out the following time line... 7-8 days in production 3-5 days after production to be delivered to Southampton and placed on a ship 12-14 days on the water to Pot Charlotte 3 days in the prep center at Charlotte 1-2 days on a truck to Indianapolis Even using the worst case days on all of those that is 32 days from start of production! Is that possible?! Wow again! Last edited by BobsWifesMini : May 3rd, 2005 at 01:11 AM. |

Offline | "Scheduled for production the same day ordered!" Hello Everyone ! Been lurking these forums for a couple weeks now. What an amazing source of info for prospective buyers! Wasn't thinking about buying a car at all until an unfortunate accident totaled my previous car about 3 1/2 weeks ago....For some odd reason I was immediately drawn to the Mini....I really don't understand it what it was, but I pretty much decided to buy one from the moment I realized the insurance company was "totaling out" my car....I knew that the only way I wouldn't buy a Mini is if I found out that I didn't fit in it well, didn't like the drive or that the car didn't like me....fortunately, that never happened! Anyhow, I ordered my MCS on Friday 4/29/05 and was told by the dealer the same day that the car is already scheduled for production. I've yet to call ASKMINI during business hours to see what the production date is (if there even is solid date that is). Will do so tomorrow morning. I'm not trusting the website as it just says "ON ORDER". Incidentally, my prod number is 67718XX. Specs are fairly standard: - BLK/BLK MCS, Lapis Blue Leather, 17in Web Spokes and all 4 packages (Prem, Sport, Cold, Conv). No Navigation, none of the other dealer installed accessories. Those can usually be had for a much cheaper price online and/or installed by myself. |

| Motoring Soon | Sorry to hear about that. I hope you were not hurt in your accident! Surprisingly, my decision to buy a MINI was due to the same sort of incident. I totaled my Scion tC mid-March and was putting a deposit down on a Cooper S within a week (I was completely sold after the test drive.) BTW, no need to call during business hours, the automated system is 24/7. |

| Having a Mini Adventure!! | Mini Delayed? Hi Everyone, Sorry for not popping in here earlier, I looked for a May production/delivery forum a while ago, but didnt see one! We ordered our Cooper (spec below) on 1st March, and were given a provisional delivery date to our dealers (Bluebell in Wilmslow, Cheshire, Uk) of 5th May, with a pick up date within 5 days of delivery. We checked this with the dealers 2 weeks ago, and were told to ring back in the last week of April for the reg number, and all was well until Thursday last week, when we rang to confirm and check if they have our reg yet, only to be told she's been delayed 12 days!! Now, going off what we were told we both booked a week off work to go n play in her when she arrives (as we both work shifts we have to give our works 4 weeks notice for hols), and she now arrives the day after we go back to work! D'oh!! Anyone else had any notice of delays?? Also, it seems a little unfair that our cousins over the pond in the US can check their delivery status by the net or phone, whereas we in the home of the New Mini, the UK cant even get anything without phoning the dealers, and then waiting for them to get back to us!! Come on Mini, if you can do it for the US, you must be able to do it for us in the uk too!! Anyhows, nice to meet you all, please forgive my rant, but not happy at having to wait till after my hols to get our new Mini Cooper! Sounds like you all have sweeet Mini's on order, our spec is below for any that are interested! Mini Cooper - Electric Blue with Black Roof and Mirror Caps Black Bonnet Stripes Chrome Line Interior and Exterior Panoramic Sunroof Chilli Pack 16" 5 spoke light alloy silver wheels Darkened Glass Full Black Leather profile sports seat Folding Mirror Pack Chrono Pack Harmon/Kardon Hifi Boost Tape Deck 6 Disc Boot Changer Cooper S Stainless steel pedals set We plan on fitting the 4 spotlight set from Minisport, and fitting blue neons in the footwells, possibly the chrome pillar supports aswell, and perhaps get the front side windows tinted a little darker to match the rear ones, but other than that I think we'll be keeping her pretty standard. The Electric Blue/ Black / Chrome look should be really mean n moody!! Anyhows, nice to meet you all! Take care n keep safe Suzanne Redwytch http://homepage.ntlworld.com/spiritwolf |

Offline | Do you think that if one of us here in the U.S. were to call into 1-866-ASK-MINI that we could get information for you and post it? Or do you think that the ones sold in the U.K will not show up for us? Can you in the U.K go to the owners lounge for the U.S. at miniusa.com and plug in your production number? |

Offline | Sigh...... My production number is 6815xxx. The order was placed on April 19th (We actually ordered it on April 23, but apparently our dealer had an earlier slot.) MiniUSA still has our car slotted for week 22. I'm so jealous that some of you have your definite production dates and your VINs already!! The waiting is starting to depress me!! |

Offline | My MINI was ordered on April 27th, and the automated ASK-MINI tells me its "scheduled for prodiction with no confirmed delivery date", but the customer service rep at ASK-MINI tells me its slotted for week 20, or May 16-22. I wonder how "set in stone" this week 20 slot is, if it doesn't have a "confirmed" date yet. Anyone know when the "confirmed" date is available on the automated system? Thanks ;-) |

Offline | So I guess I don't understand...how is the scheduling done? Because you say you ordered on the 27th (2 days before me) and you are slotted for week 20. I called the a live person at ASKMINI and was told "it looks like it is going into production this week". The thing is, he didn't say it was definite, just that it "looked like blah blah blah". If the computer says "scheduled but no confirmed date" then how can the live operator know that it may go into production this week? Was he just trying to appease me or something? Hey, if its true, I'm not complaining at all but it just seems sort of arbitrary at this point. |

| Motoring Soon | I didn't get a confirmed build date until my MINIs status went to in production last week (after sitting at the no confirmed production date for a couple of weeks due to H/K delays.) It was originally slated for week 20 but ended up going into production for week 18, so you should know your VIN and estimated completion date soon. |

Offline | Ahhh Crap..... One guy at ASKMINI tells me my MCS is going into production this week and just now another guy says Week 20 (May 16th). What's with these dudes....their driving me nuts! Even though I am without a car, I guess I can technically wait (not like I have a choice) because I have relatively easy access to my bro's truck. Driving this thing is killing me though.....120 mile roundtrip commute every day with a Dodge Ram is eating at least $100/week in gas. GAAA! I suppose I should not biatch and moan considering some of the horror stories I've heard about 3 and 6 month lead times. The reported obsession one gets with tracking their order has started with me and I can see why. I have never "sheet ordered" a car before. In general, I'm willing to bet its a pretty uncommon thing for most people as well. This new experience for me combined with the fact that these fools allow me to track the car's progress means many hours of agony! Well ok, it really isn't agony, I just hope I stop obsessing soon.I wonder if this same obsession would exist if you had the same tracking capabilities but you were ordering a honda or something? ![]() |

Offline | March production thread over 1900 messages! Holy Cow! Those March production folks have 1930 replies on their thread. We have about 40! We've got a long way to go to catch them. But not meaningless chatter. Anyone know where on the web there are good accessories at discounted prices? Like maybe I want to install my own Aux in port for an MP3 player and I want to buy the part. Any good URLs? Thanks, It's frustrating to check this thread a couple of times a day and not see any posts since the day before. My wife's cooper has a name now... Atticus is: In production with a May 12th birth date Dark Silver Cooper S convertible V-spoke wheels Chrome Line Exterior Black Bonnet Stripes Premium and Cold Weather Packages Cloth Sport seats and Anthracite Interior |

| Loves the Fuzzy One | Hi from the March group! We have some big mouths over there. ![]() Since I recently ordered another MINI, I've been keeping an eye on other production group threads, seeing if I can help. If you want to start shopping for aftermarket trinkets for your MINI, the first thing to check is the MINI2 sponsors. I know Mikeythemini sells an Ipod adapter kit that gets rave reviews. Cooper Flags has some neat stuff, and a Whalen knob has to be felt at least once. ![]() I'm shopping for things for my MCSCa, even though I transferred all the stuff from my MC-CVT. ![]() Global Moderator |
