Offline | Mea Culpa.. Again..I am a victim of my own stupidity. (No fair with 2 people being able to use the name! ) (actually, I knew this...I was just testing you.. )(and if you believe that...) (Uncle Taz continues to stumble all over himself in here...) I'm just gonna go over and have a seat for a while. |

Offline | Everyone else but me... Ask-Mini's tracking system finally went back up today and the only thing I learned is that my MINI hasn't yet made it to the body shop. I'm hoping for a mid-June delivery date. With all this talk about others being on the ships...well...I'll just sit over here in the corner and sob. ![]() |

Offline | My dealer is Dreyer in Indianapolis and my reliable (insert joke here) ASK-MINI representative said it was going through Charleston. So Hobbit's blackie is in the paint shop, and mine is in the body shop. It would be great to end up on a ship quickly. But I won't hold my breath. So Taz and/or April did your ship actually post somewhere like the owners lounge? Did you get it from ask-mini? Did you search by VIN number on the ships? Or did you read it in the tea leaves? I guess I'm a little fuzzy on how I learn the ship. NAME CHANGE ALERT. My wife has had second thoughts. NO NOT ABOUT ME. But the name of her Mini. Atticus may be renamed Bentley. I don't know, but a dark Silver Convertible Mini looks a lot like a Bond, James Bond to me... |

Offline | Well, you probably already know about the FAQ-part of the forums that go into great detail about the WW lines and how to track them, but another possible vessel carrier is the K Line (the ones our dealer used) and their shipping schedule is here: http://www.kline.com/PCC-RoRo/Schedu...ticShuttle.asp They don't go into the detail that the WW lines do for tracking purposes, but if your car is at the dock for very long with no luck getting on a WW ship, chances are you are on one of the KLine vessels. Some people have had good luck getting a Bill of Lading from their dealership once the car is at port, but our particular dealer never had access to those (or chose to just tell us that so we wouldn't bug them so much). As for your wife and her second thoughts... First though: Bob you are giving us regular guys a bad name if you don't give cause for your wife to have second thoughts about you. Hell, my wife has those daily with me and she's been having that problem for almost 30 years now! Screw up once in a while so she has reason to think twice, will ya? You're giving me a complex here.Ok, back to the name change. Any odds whether it changes again? We have had our car almost a month now and still haven't come up with a name we both like. (then again..we are slow at a lot of things) Auntie April, you had a better grasp on this stuff than I did. Any additional morsels of wisdom to impart on shipping?? |

Offline | STILL week 22! Sob! AprilWhine: What are the 2006 changes? (if I missed this in an earlier thread, please point me in the right direction.) So does this mean my May built car will incorporate these changes? ![]() |

Offline | [quote=AprilWhine] It kills me to admit this AW, but I'm not overly product knowledgable on the prior models to be able to say whats new on the later 05's. I think I remember someone telling me that the larger cupholder and the little catch-all pocket tray (below the switches where there was no tray before) were not on the earlier models. The arm rest is a standard on some of the fancier models only if I'm not mistaken. (premium pkg on the S or convert?) My standard MINI didn't offer it as standard but as an option. Those are all guesses people, keep that in mind. Capt. Clueless ![]() |

Offline | Woohooo!!! nmlacoopers I have pretty much the same car, except instead of the convenience package I went with the Sports package and eventually have to buy winter tires Looks like our cars were built around the same time...the Owner's Lounge says it is Awaiting Transport while the automated system says waiting for paint job completing May 8th...so the OL is actually more up to date... I am soooo excited...too much other stuff happening this summer for me so I have only been able to check my status today after about a a 5 days gap and when I saw awaiting transport I was bouncing off the walls. I am moving to Boston mid-June and hope my Mini will be waiting when I arrive.... Fingers Crossed for everyone |

Offline | It is tough to be patient. My husband is getting tired of me just randomly saying something like, "It will actually be later than expected". I was thinking aloud again about when the car will be done at the factory. Thank goodness you guys understand my current obsession. ![]() |

Offline | Yes and it is quite common too. Give it a couple of days to correct itself (don't know why it works but it does) and everything should be back to how you ordered it. If, however, after a couple of days have gone by and the specs are still different from yours, contact your MA. Have HIM (or her) check it out too so he can see what's wrong, first hand. Now that you have started production...it may be too late to make any changes, but let's hope not. Good luck. |

Offline | Strange Taz, for some reason I don't see the original post that you just answered here! But, as to Gen's question. I had the dealer completely miss an option. They had it right on all the paperwork, but it turned out they entered it wrong. We ordered the v-spoked wheels, which are a no charge item for the S convertible. But they didn't show up on line. I called the ASK-MINI folks and said "are they on there, and if not what is the product code the dealer has to enter?" The dealer had assumed that since they were no-charge wheels, they would just be correct. If I wouldn't have called then the 7-fin wheels would have shown up. I gave the dealer the right code to enter and it was fixed the next day. I recommend going through the options you expect with the ASK-MINI folks. Tell them every feature you expect to be on the car, and if there is a mistake you have to have the dealer fix it. When the ask-mini folks agreed with everything on the car, I felt much better. |

Offline | I don't either but I really truly didn't make it up! HONEST! Dunno what happened there...(insert eerie ghost sounds here) I concur that dealers mistype stuff in a lot, but sometimes the first call to ASKMINI is a little unnerving in that the specs can be waayyy off for a day. My personal theory on that? I believe the dealers have allotments already on the books and when someone like us come in, they insert our names on the pre-specced car. (If we then call ASKMINI, our names are on a car usually specced totally different from ours) Then, before production starts, the dealer then changes the specs for us-to what we wanted. However, that's just an off-the-wall theory of mine that could be as hairbrained as alchemy. (would certain moderators be playing with my mind here with that lost post??) |
