Is there a difference between "On Order" and "Scheduled for Production, But No Date Set"? I only ask because the MINI website shows "On Order", but the ASK MINI automated service says "Scheduled for Production, But No Date Set".
The MiniUSA website generally lags a couple of days behind the automated status by phone, and the automated status lags behind the real live customer relations people. Best bet for current info is to talk to a human. Besides, most of them are downright playful over the phone...something all prospective Mini owners should experience. Pete
I believe 'on order' may or may not have your correct options, but by the time it is scheduled for production, even without a date set, the specs should be correct.
You'll also find that the ASK-MINI phone line and the website Owners' Lounge use different terminology for some of the same status points. As stated in the first response, your most accurate info will likely come by speaking with a human at ASK-MINI.
Many thanks to all for the responses -- just talked to a very pleasant rep at ASK MINI and was told that my current status is that my order has been accepted at the MINI plant, but is still waiting for a production date (could get that in the next week accoring to the rep). That's pretty much what the automated sytem was telling me, just not in so many words
