The few, the proud.. the August 2005 builds!

I have my order number, and status is on order in the Owner's Lounge.

I was going to wait on a 2006 but the dealer told me that 25 other people had made that decision already so it would be early 2006 calendar before I'd even get to order. Seeing as how I wasn't planning on getting any of the new colors or trim items (was pondering factory JCW.. but I can live without).

Purple Haze/Black Cooper S coming so soon, but nowhere near soon enough of course

Well, I don't have an order number but I know my MINI is in the August production group. Actually, my dealer told me it was actually planned for September (!!!) but since I ordered EB/W they could (and had to) reschedule it in the August group.. Happy me

Going on vacation tomorrow so that scrapes off two weeks waiting

I got mine ordered, just don't have the production number yet. My mini advisor said it he would get it to me next week. So now all I have to do is wait. This is going to be a long couple of months.

My

HB/W MCS

is on order, schedueld for production in Week 31 (first week of August)

. After calling ASK MINI, the guy I talked to said his is scheduled for production in the same week! I just couldn't possibly wait the extra time for a 2k6. Space blue looks cool, but I adore the Hyper Blue / White combination!

Is anyone else here a week 31 build?

Ordered my MINI Cooper S on July 1st in Denver. Checked the MINI Owners Site as soon as I had a production number. Had to check with the dealership to determine I have a week 31 build. CAN'T for the build week to start!

I ordered a PS/B MCS on July 8 which I understood would be in the August production group. I received my production number right away and got put in status 112. However, nothing has changed from that point on. No VIN, no production date, nothing. How long did you guys have to wait to get to status 150 (scheduled for production on the Owners Lounge)?

I am glad to here that your car is scheduled for production. I am still on order, but when I checked with my dealership, they have it scheduled for week31.

I too am still on order. I called 1-866-ASK-MINI and gave them my production number to find out what week number I'm scheduled for. The web site still just says "on order", and the automated system says "scheduled for production with no specific production date yet". Still no VIN. Still no official production date.

Nice to hear from another future Colorado Motorer! And it looks like you're copying my MINI

. When did Schomp say you'd be getting yours? I ended up ordering out of Baron in KC since the waiting list for an S at Shomp was 6 months !

Baron said I'd probably be picking up my MINI towards the end of September, but I'm hoping it'll be sooner.

Schomp said about six months, so that gets me to November. I need the time to save up the down payment anyway.

Hey, good news. After posting here yesterday that my MCS was stuck in on order status, I just called Ask Mini and the automated system said my car is scheduled for production and expected to be completed Aug. 1. I guess you can't do better than that for an August build. The owners lounge hasn't updated yet and its still not showing a VIN.

usna92, I live in Colorado Springs. I'm actually in Kansas City for the weekend, so I'm going to drop by and meet my MA today.

Have you hooked up with MINI5280 yet? They're the local Motoring Club. You can find them on the NAM forums (www.northamericanmotoring.com).

ASK MINI's automated system never mentioned a production week. The message was always "scheduled for production with no specific date" until yesterday when suddenly it said "scheduled to be completed August 1". Earlier, my MA had said she didn't understand how to read the dates in the computer but thought my car was scheduled for "the 31st". I assumed that was the day of the month, and asked "which month?". She just said she didn't know how to read the computer, so I quit asking. Now I'm thinking that the computer was telling her it was the 31st production week.

I ordered mine on July 1. After three painful weeks (it felt much longer) I checked the web site last night July 23 and finally it showed "scheduled for production". I called ASK-MINI this morning and the automated answer said "scheduled for completion Aug 1".. FINALLY.
Mine's on it's way to Ca.Can't wait --- again - arrgh!!
BTW - PW/PW with black interior w/ anthracite trim..

p.s. this board kept me going while I've been waiting over the last and longest 3 weeks ever! - thanks to all for your posts...

I'm being patient and haven't called yet to see if I can find out more details about my build time. Just going insane surfing mini forums in different places. It helps that the wife has a Cooper Convertible to play with while I wait

I think I've just been trying to avoid total and complete obsession

Edit:

Ok I called! Schedule for 1st week of August Production. If all the cards fall the right way.. 1st or 2nd week of Sept. for delivery!

Just called again. Still no confirmed production date, but they keep saying "Week 31". I'm guessing you guys were at the beginning of Week 31 and my baby won't be done 'till the end.

My MA is now telling me it'll take 8 weeks for delivery after production is complete. Is that right? Seems kinda long to me... especially since it'll be shipping through the east coast, not the west coast...

Anyone know how long it takes to ship a MINI to Kansas?

Mine will ship through the west coast, so I get the plus two weeks transit time to CA. Funny that Kansas is east coast and Colorado is West.

He said it started last night and has an estimated completion date of 08/05/2005!
