Not talking wear and tear, talking matching with your interior

Sorry to add to all the questions...but I went to my local BMW Dealer to ask about a JCW wheel, they said I could'nt get one for mine as it's a 2001 Cooper model. The JCW wheel only fits 2003 models onwards........is this correct...???

I have a 2003 MCS and am in the USA. My curresnt steering wheel is the 2 Spoke MFSW, can I switch to the JCW steering wheel and still have my MFSW controls work fine? I really want to make the switch but want to make sure that it wouldnt be a problem before I order up the parts.

Thanks,
BEATNUT

Its possible but much £££ or in your case $$$. As you'll need the steering wheel, the new airbag and the new MFSW controls.

Are the controls the same? Would I need to do some re-wiring or anything? The MFSW is whats having me hold off on t his although I would love to do this mod. How will the new setup from my current one and does anyone know if the new controls would be plug n' play?

Thanks,
BEATNUT

MFSW on the 3 Spoke has 4 buttons (track up, down, volume up, down) for the radio and 4 buttons for Cruise Control.

MFSW on the 2 spoke has 6 buttons (Track up, down, volume up, down, source and a dead button unless you have an aftermarket radio) on back of steering wheel and 4 buttons for the Cruise Control on front of steering wheel.

Hi guys!

New to the forum and waiting to receive my downpaid 2003 MCS in black! One question regarding the steering wheel.

Currently I have the Sports wheel fitted on, but definetely want the JCW wheel (probably in all leather). Now the question is if it is possible to fit the airbag from the sports wheel on the JCW so I could avoid the costs in purchasing a new airbag.

How much does a used sports wheels with the airbag go for these days?

Thanks a lot for any info! I´ll be posting pics as soon the baby comes to the garage

I think Sports means it's leather covered and has thumb grips. It doesn't say 2 or 3 spoke.
For a 2 spoke the airbag needs replacing but for a 3 spoke just the steering wheel.

Some people are like a Slinky ........ not really good for anything, but you still can't help
but smile when you shove them down the stairs

Would this be possible to fit at home Chris, just thinking I might have to order one soon

The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive?

Hi Mate,
the fitting is straight forward but you would need your airbag light switching off at your local dealer

Chris
