United-Kingdom Mcs Mth Dyno Results

Had my mini cooper s with no mods dyno'd today and these are the results

Before:- (Tested by bmw in march after complaints of power loss) (crank results)
163 bhp
152 nM

After:- (Tested 15/10/2005) (At Wheels)
181 bhp
151 nM

The after results are figures from the wheels. I have been told that wheels to crank includes losses of 15%.

This equates to crank results of:-

208bhp
174nM

Let me know what you think.

If all goes well soon to have a GTT 210bhp !!!!!

Reading the first post, i presume it wasn't the same dyno place?

Either way, nice end result!!!! Can you post the dyno sheet?

Cheers,
Peter

Makes me wonder even more how my end result will be after fitting the MTH header and software... The before dyno was 160hp at the wheels (no dyno sheet yet i'm afraid).

Jetblack, OMP upper and lower strutbrace, Milltek catback and manifold, softwaretuning, LED parking lights. 215hp/266Nm, 18" Works R95, Aerokit with smoked sidemarkers

My car 12 days after delivery and still standard (Works airfilter fitted before delivery) managed 165bhp at the wheels...

An induction kit should bring between 3 and 12hp (reading various posts) so 165whp is roughly the same to my max. hp with the standard setup.

Thumbs up

yes i really would not worry about damaging the engine it was not a very hot day and the fan was going like crazy blowing air into my inlet so all will be fine.

No the 2 runs were done at different place. I appreciate you get differenced from different places however i am not taking these results too seriously. I just wanted to point out how smooth the flow of the graph was and that mth is actually making a positive difference so far.
Also i was there and there was an awesome impreza p1 there. I want it!!

very good results just from a remap, you sure that the 181bhp wasn't at the crank?

If your dyno charts have them, I'd love to see the air/fuel ratios too please.

there is no way u'd get 180 bhp at the wheels. With a 15% loss, that's about 213 bhp at the crank, which is better than a new works. I just got a remap done by MTH, and no way i can take on a 210bhp JCW.

I don't even have a remap and I'd still take one on! But then I am a bit gone in the head! :P

Sounds like catalogue figures to me.... How did they 'measure' these crankshaft figures -did they really take the engine out of your car to test it?

Until you get some dyno results from the same car on the same (wheel) dyno, before and after MTH then I would be extremely sceptical of these figures.

They generally get them by dipping the clutch as soon as the gauge on the dyno indicating power starts to drop. That way the rate at which the rollers slow down allows you to calculate the transmission losses (inc hysteresis of the tyres).

If you've got this much power coming out of ur car, then why don't you contact BBR uk, and win their challenge?

http://www.bbrgti.com/mini.php

They say that if you get more than a 18bhp gain with just a remap, u'll win a 24000 pound cooper s.
