Offline | I'm wondering too. I had Digi-Tec tuning and the MTH map even got me more power with the same hardware (I got the Milltek catback too). Next weekend I'm getting the MTH header with optimized tuner file and I expect some hp from it. It should get me to 240, yours is probably about 250. EB/W R53 MCS Highly Modified |

Offline | Lets start with the pros, MTH is very good and is relativly cheap as far as mapping goes,in my car with mild mods everything was fine and i was very happy indeed and would still be using MTH if i thought that there was'nt something availible that is better! But that is the point there is the dastek unichip which is a piggyback ecu that is live mapped to your car on the rollers to the spec i want and safely. My point is that there is no way a guy a 1000 miles away can tell exactly what a engine is going at a given time, as no 2 engines are the same. This has always been in my mind since i began on the tuning route, i wanted a safe live mapping process with a piggyback ecu that i could control with the operator that is doing the mapping work. |

Offline | That's why MTH requires your current software if you want a tuner file or the tuner file for the header (not the standard MTH file). The download of your software has te be send to MTH so they can see from the file how your engine is performing, and can make changes according to the readings in your current software. That's why the ecu has to be reset after uploading the new motormanagement, to reset the stored readings acquired with your previous software. So a thousand miles away is not accurate since you are sending your performance readings to MTH. EB/W R53 MCS Highly Modified |

Online | Just to add my 2 cents but how does live mapping on rollers be any better than someone doing it a 1000 miles away; How do the rollers generate the g force when you are accelerating?? How do the rollers generate a wind from 5mph to 140mph?? Rollers and engine dynos are good for setting up or trying something to see the difference but don't believe the figures until you can test it in the real world i.e dragstrip, then whatever your mph is, represents your geniune bhp. Also peak numbers doesn't propel your car quicker, how long do you spend at 6900?? Slicks 11.77@115.92mph Street tyres 12.162 @ 119.02 IT'S NOT HOW MUCH YOU SPEND BUT HOW WELL YOU SPEND IT |

Offline | from an engine dyno which 99.9% of the poplulation doesn't have... so why guess at something when you can read the whp on the dyno's that we have? It only matters what is at the wheels anyway... I guess it's comes down to people liking to believe they have more HP than they really do.... ![]() |
