New Zealand Alta Silicone hose problem

Have recently installed an Alta CAI into my 03 Cooper S.

However we had a major problem getting the silicone hose to fit, and had to finally revert to the factory hose.

The diameter of the hose at the throttle body end just seems too wide and slips off all the time. The intake end is fine.

Has anyone else encountered this problem, and have any useful advice. Perhaps it is just our technique, but after about 8 attempts we gave up and refitted the factory hose.

I have emailled Alta about it but as yet haven't had a response and I know some knowledgeable spark on here will steer me in the right direction.

Thanks

did u try cleaning the inside of the hose as well as the T/B? i do remember a fair bit of oil these parts when fitting the hose on the T/B.

Mine wasnt too wide to have this problem but i did notice some slipping.. the best bet is to make sure your clamps are really tight.

Hope this helps.

I saw another thread where somebody shaved the hose down to fit better... I can't seem to find it though...
