Hi guys,

If you can't make up your mind on which route to go we have got information on our website at www.lohen.co.uk. We have a write up in the extra setion and tech articles, as well as more details in our ECU section of our online shop. For people that are unclear this may help.

Cheers,

As I understand it, the Bluefin device plugs into your OBC port, it has a number of optimised maps for engine management built in. when you use it on your car it uploads a new map, and registers the ECU with the bluefin device. It will only work on your car, however if you are a dedicated hacker you can wipe its memory and start over with a different car.Theres a big problem with not wiping the maps when you re set it using the hack technique. It seems to corrupt the original maps, which is quite sensible from a Bluefin marketing viewpoint. But it could lead to expensive problems on any car it is used on. Ideally if you change your car, the Bluefin must go back to Superchips and be re programmed, and there will be a cost for this.

As I understand it, Lohen, etc are a vendor and not a manufacturer. Most vendors do not have the capability to do that type of change.

Obe is right, and if the One Click product is anything to go by the cost of reconfiguring the unit will be not much less than buying a brand new one. Its best to talk direct to Superchips to iron out the details before you invest.

Bluefin!

Ok, I've been doing a bit of reading about this Bluefin malarky. I'm a bit confused as to how it all works. I'm assuming that for my Cooper, I buy a Bluefin which has a generic "chipped" ECU map, which works on all Coopers, correct?
So, why with other ECU chip vendors, do you have to send a copy of your ECU map to them? Surely they just send you a new imrpoved map to input into your car?
An idiots guide would probably be helpful for me lol
Cheers

with other maps etc,i.e mth, you tell them what mods you have done and its programmed to work with them, plus you dont get a controller of your own to play with.

So depending on what you have done/or planning to do in the near future, depends which remap is best for you.

Gotcha, thanks a lot mate

Sorry we should be on ball more! In reply to your previous post, the Bluefin can be returned to us to be reprogrammed for your new car (we would need evidence of this though). This can be for free.

If anyone has any questions about the Bluefin at all please do not hesitate to call us on 01785 859999 or come and visit us (details on www.lohen.co.uk), we can then explain the whole process for you, which is easier to do by talking. The remapping process can be a hard one to get your head round considering there are so many options to choose from.

If you have a question, get in touch and we can point you in the right direction as to which mapping process would suit you best!

Would like to try a Bluefin on my MINI Cooper, but it seems not to be available on
this side of the pond (USA). (I asked UK Superchips, all three US Superchips dealers,
and Lohen).

What would be good for me, would be to test out a Cooper with the bluefin so I can see/feel what I am paying for! This is one big problem that i cant realy get over with anything i buy, I have to try it before i buy it - even if I could return it at no cost to me, i would have to try it before parting with cash.

So....... does anyone have bluefin on a cooper in my area (west Yorkshire)? (seriously Though)
