Offline | Bluefin Just been on the Lohan Website, and noticed that you can now get a Superchip Bluefin, (thought only fords can get these) but anyway, has anyone got one of these yet, how easy is it to do, and can it be reverted back to standard as many times as you like?? Sound like a good cheap, warranty safe way to get an extra 30 bhp from my ONE. |

| Eat my dust. | Anyone stumped up the cash for one of these yet? I'm quite interested, but it would be good to hear some first hand opinions before splashing out. There's a bit more info on the Bluefin website. |

Offline | I'm torn between this bluefin and the oneclick at the moment, oneclick is 60 quid more, although their doing vat free this week. So their basically the same price, just need to find out how to get my ECU number now, can't find it anywhere in my 05 cooper Despite obscure descriptions like it's near the battery..... all i found there was a fuse box! |

Offline | After reading Go Mini yesterday i thought id come on here and see if anyone had one, i was hoping there would be loads about and that i could nab one cheaper than £299, me I think 3 people from one area should buy one and share it ! makes much more sense to me and to my wife who wont let me spend £299 on more Mini stuff :-( |

Offline | From what i understand once you use it on a car it becomes coded to that car via the VIN number and can't be used by anyone else. If you change mini's you can't use it on the new one and neither can your mates Not sure if you change cars wether superchips might reset it for you (for a small charge) or if you have to buy a new one though.Still no nearer deciding which to go for, bluefin quote 8bhp, amd quote 10bhp. Both for around the same price at the mo with amd's vat free offer. Main problem seems to be no ones actually tested both side by side. All you get is "bluefin is great get one" or "I went for AND and it rocks". I'd have though someone would have done a proper study on a single car testing all the various maps performance but it seems not. I've not got gomini yet, do they compare the bluefin to anything else or do they just test the bluefin? |

Offline | Yeah I even gave Superchips A call and asked as ive got two Mini's ones could i use the bluefin to remap both, but alas no was the answer, so im just going to have to justify £300 quid ! its over 30bhp for the remapped min one so i think well worth it |

Offline | Superchips Bluefin Here are the claims from Superchips, regarding their Bluefin for the MC and MCS. It looks like a nice bump for a Cooper, but hard to justify 275 pounds for a couple of ft-lbs. for the S. . Last edited by OldRick : Oct 24th, 2005 at 08:20 PM. |

| Eat my dust. | There were some figures quoted in the last (ever) issue of Go MINI magazine. I can't recall the details, but from what I remember, the biggest gains are to be had by the MINI One. The gains you're likely to achieve on a Cooper or Cooper S were much less impressive... |

Offline | Bluefin superchips Hello All, Has anybody tried the new plug in ECU re mapper from Bluefin superchips. I read the article today in Go MINI magazine?? It looks easy to re program as you just plug it into the diagnostic port and upload the software into the ECU. When your car needs a service, you can upload your original program back in to avoid detection from BMW. The article says you can gain 6-7 bhp for £299. I am thinking about buying this as my mini has just come out of warranty. Anybody out there bought one yet??? Won Chop |
