Offline | Get the 0-60 numbers from Beltronic last night These are the results I got last night by using the Beltronic Vector FX1: My Mini Cooper S (with 17%, intake, JCW exhaust and MTH tuner file): Best: 0-60 = 6.08sec (Launch with half throttle and half clutch, full throttle when the tires start get traction.) Worst: 0-60 = 6.52sec (with a bad launch, full throttle launch, lot of wheel spins) BMW X5 4.4L: Best: 0-60 = 6.70sec (Power brake and launch at 1500RPM) Worst: 0-60 = 7.35sec (normal launch) Celica GTS 2000 (with Load of mods) Best: 6.6sec Worst: 7.2sec So after these runs, I think the device is quit accurate? I feel bad that my mini is just .6sec faster than a stock X5 4.4L... If I can do a better launch with no wheels spin, it should run at least high 5 sec. We will have more friends to try this gaget tonight (GTI 1.8T with mods, Maxima, Camry V6) and I will post them out tomorrow. Happy Motoring. ![]() |

Offline | Just come back after some runs... Unfortunately, the GTI 1.8T owner did not come since he said he is so tired.... It ends up only me and the Maxima owner do the runs tonight, we end up with the result: My MCS: Best: 6.00sec (I was like... OMG! Only if I can run .01sec faster, then I am at high 5sec!!) Worst: 6.40sec (The best run was made by 1/4 tank of gas, then after full up the gas, the best I can do is only 6.14sec, and worst is 6.40sec...) My friend 's 1995 Maxima (Automatic, intake and exhaust) He will install the underdrive pulley tomorrow, that is why he wants to test his car now before the pulley. Then his results are: Best: 7.95sec (Power brake start.... Not bad for an automatic car, plus almost 10 years old..) Worst: 8.5sec (Normal start) Still feel very please with the time that my MCS made, but then after a while my car's CEL is on... I guess it may indicate the car was over boost?? Will check it later..Tomorrow should be more fun though, there will be Civic 2.0L DOHC fully modify, Civic 1.8 DOHC Full mod, and the Celica GT with full mods and ...... Will update the times, Hopefully I can break the 6 sec barrier soon. Happy motor! ![]() |

Offline | Sounds very interesting - I really want to know how the MCS compares to the Civics..(I had a Civic b4 i got my cooper) and my couisns have a Civic VTi 1.6 fully mod and a ESI 1.6 fully mod. The VTI is chipped and he claims low 6 seconds. Also - it would be nice if u had a standard cooper there, maybe with a induction kit and after market cat back system - do you think they will go quicker then the standard 9.1 secs they claim?? |

Offline | Hi PKman: Unfortunately, the Civic owners were not able to do the runs last night, but we will try to do it again today. Those Civics are fast (They claimed), it is a 2.0L DOHC VTEC engine swap (1.6L > 2.0), plus it is fully modified except LSD... Last time I have him to test with this gaget in a rainy day (all wet road), my MCS got a 7.4sec and his was 7.6sec.... So that is why now he would like to see what is his real number on a dry road.. We do have few standard Mini owers here, and hopefully we can manage a Mini meeting by doing the runs. I knew a standard Mini owner has intake, exhaust, MTH and wires, will see how it goes. Last night, I did try few runs with my MCS again... Still... I made 3 runs, the first 2 runs I got flat 6.0sec (again ), then the last run was 6.05sec... With more than half tank of gas.... Hopefully can get to High 5 sec before winter comes. Will update the times once I get it! |

Offline | Our Mini went; 0-60 5.85 sec natually aspirated 0-60 4.06 sec with nitrous This is worked out by the 1/8 mile et and mph via http://www.wallaceracing.com/0-60_equation.php I.m not sure about the nitrous times as we can hadly activate the nitrous in 1st, I'm sure it will improve no end wants we fit a nitrous controller. Offline | Hi Etalj: I am still running the Toyo T1R and MyMini Cold air intake. Last night keep doing flat 6.00sec, and worst was 6.05sec... and with full interior.Tonight is rainning, that is why we did not do any run... But today at noon, as you see my friend's was Maxima was running 8~8.5sec before, then after he had the under drive pulley installed, he is now running 7.5~7.9sec.... Very impressive... It makes me to think if I should get the under drive pulley or not now.... ![]() |

| 8/10 on the Stoogometer | anything under 6 secs is my goal, that is, after warranty just leaves me alone I have a MTH tuner file, and an Alta CAI coming. After warranty goes away, i'm getting a 17% pulley, IK22 Sparks, and maybe 380cc Injectors, but haven't done much research on the latter. Elie |

Offline | Looking forward to the times! Gd luck - and if has got the mods right a 2.0 Dohc VTEC should be very very fast! Is it the Type R engine he put into it? cos old VTi and old type R's are only 1.6L...unless he went for a integra engine! but i dont think that would fit ![]() If insurance was cheaper I would have gone for the MSC (or actually a 2nd hand EVO 6 or integra Type R - but i guess i'm not meant to say that on a Mini forum!! lol) i have a standard Cooper(just got it 2 months back '55 model) so that is why I am interested in the 0-60 if there were a few mods done to it! I have ordered a Miltek Catback already (group buy) and I am going to a induction kit and struct braces put on. I think the ECU remapping and manifold will be for next yr! I have yet to completely run it in! lol ![]() |

Offline | Hi PKman: The Civic 2.0L was originally modify from a 1.6L SIR engine (B16?), the owner put all kind of mods into his car, (NA) claim he can keep well with a stock STI... But the thing is... When we race on track, when we both on straight, I am a bit faster than his 2.0L.... Um... Will see what time he will get... (Still no chance to try, will rain again for this week...! )Good news is we will have a 2006 Subaru Legacy GT limit (250HP!) to join our test soon, will see what he will get. Hi 1320Autos: Cool, those are impressive times, I still have difficulty to break that 6.00sec barrier... I will stop mod my car now since winter is coming soon, so hopefully I can get mid 5 sec after few more mods in next summer.. and as for the 17% pulley, so far so good, I have it installed since 10 months ago, and had a belt problem before (I guess that pulley shop send me a wrong belt at that moment), no problem occur since the new belt installed. Btw, once I have any uptodate times, I will post them up. Cheers |

Offline | Hi etalj: No, actually, that pulley manufactor suppose to send me a "smaller" belt, but they didn't at the first time... I think they did send me a smaller belt (for 19%) that was why my previous belt had broke a bit (the belt has several layout, it broke the first one.. Phew). The reason why I knew they send me the wrong belt is because the part's numbers were different compare with the 2 belts... So, if you decide to go for a 17%, here it is the belt part number: NAPA Mivcro V 25-060539 Cheers, |

Offline | Finally get in touch with the 5 sec level! WooHoo! Tonight, I did 4 runs and the first three runs were like 6.02sec, 6.15sec, 6.06sec... Then the last run is an impressive 5.98sec! The last run was has the least spins, maybe that is why. Cheers, ![]() |
