| MINI Mover | MTH Help Hi All, I have MTH on my car and it's been running ok but I am selling the car and have tried to transfer the standard map back on however the standard file transfered half way accross then it came up program error and the car will not start even after an ECU reset and it has blocked the dealer diagnostics out also. Everytime I try and upload it fails halfway through, has anybody else had this problem and managed to resolve it? Otherwise looks like I will have to buy a new ECU If anybody has any advice that would be great. Cheers Jamie |

| Mini Madness | I would re-read the main MTH thread with regard to laptop software interruptions if I were you - I think other people have experienced issues with background software, even image files causing the ECU map upload to fail. http://www.mini2.com/forum/showthrea...t=97748&page=3 ![]() 2007 Clubman Cooper D ~ 2004 Cooper S JCW |

Offline | make sure the screen saver is turned off, all email programmes and disable all network connections. the slightest interuption will cause it to fail, so make sure your laptop is dedicated to only run cartune while you are uploading. |

Offline | I read a lot of these threads that say similar things. Why don't MTH make the software more bullet proof or put a dialog box that tells you to close all other programs/services before starting? |

Offline | I would suggest to do the file transfer though safe mode or... Go to Start, Run, enter MSCONFIG within the run window to bring up the sys utility tools. Go to Startup tab, turn off all the startup items... Restart the computer. Once you have your Windows screen comes back, run Cartune (bring up the program only), go to Task Manager, Process tab, you will then see a file names "Cartune.exe", right click on it, priority, chnage to High, close task manager. Now run the Cartune process again.... Make sure you do not touch anything while the file transfer (for example, light on/off, door open/close and etc...). You can leave your car and wait for 4~5 minutes, then come back. If you see the screen looks like it is freezing, you can left click on the Cartune, it will then come back with the progress bar... Or it may gives you the message "Transfer Complete". Good luck, there is no need to purchase a new ECU, it should still runs fine. Happy motoring! ![]() |

| Black Cat Owner | This problem had happened to a friend of mine as we were uploading the MTH file, after so many trials, we noticed that it is extremly important to not move any thing in the car as the Upload is in progress. Suggestion, as soon as you hit Upload in CarTune, make no movement whatsoever to the laptop or the cable connected. If it fails, then its an error in the computer you are using, try performing what they have suggested above. DONT PANIC, flashing the ECU will always work without the need to contact your dealership or whatever. |
