Offline | if you want real fun see if you can dig up some info on a car called "the monster"...it was an yank estate car ran in spain around the 80/90's that the owner had stuffed in a 24L merlin v12 engine....think it was 1000 hp but he was tinkering with a merlin supercharger to take it up to 2000, and did 200mph as it stood...apart from the wheels i remember it looking pretty stock (merlins powered spitfires and p51's )2Litres per cyliner LMAO Jay Leno has a Merlin powered rolls royce...the old rumour at the time was that RR wouldnt service any car with non rolls parts added, so modding them with a RR merlin apparently meant that the dealer still had to service them LOL heres a lazier version being stuffed inside a rover SD1 ![]() |

| "I'm kind of a big deal" | A few of us have come to the conclusion that the bike one isn't 100% genuine. Look at the side roads on the left hand side, there's no way they're going past at over 200 mph. Its more obvious when he's slowed down to 120mph cos the side road looks more like its passing at about 40mph. |

Offline | i had my doubts as well...it take some serious poke to keep the front up in 3rd/4th (especially on a longer wheelbase bike like hyabusa etc)...there's also the odd acceleration in top, which despite the revs rising, the speedo seems to top out at 210, the speed its increasing by doesn't seem to match the extra creep on the speedo...either the clutch is slipping or the speedo has hit the peg...its also unusual to see a bike rev out in top, unless its downhill or wind behind you. I remember doing some high speed runs on my old exup, and whilst 150-160 was easily attainable even on a short straight, 170 took some serious road (erm track) to get to. That was 130bhp at the rear wheel, and its reckoned that after about 190 you need to start adding disproportionate amounts of power to get faster, ie not a few hp for a few mph, more like a 10's of hp for a few mph. I've seen a fireblade on a FB video running down a road i'm very familiar with...according to the speedo it was doing 160, but it definately wasn't and the commentator reckoned the speedo had been fiddled with. Although its capable, the speedo and acceleration looked odd as well. |
