Australia BMC Air Filters

Hey,

I've been looking into upgrading my air intake and was wondering what BMC are like?
I was wanting to get the K&N 57i, but the price is a little too much.
So, I did some searching and found the "BMC Junior Kit (DIA70-130)" which seems to be alot cheaper than the K&N.

So... I was wondering if they are at all comparable? and would BMC be better or worse?

Thanks,
Simon

I assume that you are looking to replace the OEM airbox. If so, most options are fairly costly, typically A$350-A$450 (and more).

The challenge is that the Cooper engine bay is fairly warm and simply putting a pod-type filter in the engine bay may not achieve the desired result due to sucking 'hot' air rather than 'cold' air.

Other manufacturers include Green Cotton, who make a twister kit for the Cooper. See attached pic.

The other option is to change the drop in a replacement filter into the OEM box, even this option is about A$100.

Good Luck
Chris
