Offline | Squeaking pulley? I've got a 15% reduction pulley installed, and lately its been making a squeaking noise when the car is idling when cold. Is this normal? If not, what is causing it/what can i do to fix it? Thanks for your help! |

Offline | Hi Guys, A stiff belt and /or very cold weather will both bring on the belt squeak. For example the JCW 'gates 'belt is very stiff. A change to a softer rubber will fix it . If you get stuck we have some 'quiet belts' .I guess Maxs gunk trick probably supples up the rubber too. Regards Roland GT Tuning |

Offline | sent you a suggestion via PM Thumper. Let me know if it pans out. Hmm just reread your location, for some reason I thought you were in Milwaukee, WI, nevermind. Now how the hell did I come up with that? |

Offline | Warrantee issue NOT YOUR BELT It looks like you have a 2005 model. I got a 2005 "S" Automatic. It came with a squeek that got worse within 50 miles of taking delivery. The squeek got so bad that I couldn't drive it. 5 days later I had a new tensioner. Apparently 2005 got a pulley tensioner from a new manufacturer and the bearings were not correct. My car was made in June 2005 and the dealer told me that it was happening to about 50% of the new cars. Look at your manufacture date. If it's before August 2005 it may be the tensioner not the belt. |
