AC Schnitzer 2006 kit

WOW, AC Schnitzer has just launched the new engine upgrade for MCS.

Power is now 162kw with a claimed 0-100km/h in 6,2 seconds.

It is alot cheaper than JCW, so i think i might go this route and i can do the upgrade in stages!

MINI, it is a way of life.

The press release says 0-100 in 6,8 seconds and a 222 hp:
http://www.acschnitzer.com/englisch/...ngen/13_05.htm

It's a concept car with altered driving position for optimum weight balance. Since the press release mentiones the car is suitable for everyday use the seat is probably not in the center

AC Schnitzer is a in-house tuner of BMW and all cars with their tunings keep factory warranty.

They are 100km away from me (in Aachen), I could be tempted but I already have got 250 hp

I was under the impression you keep warrenty, but can't find it on their website. Quote however from there:

To offer the customer a fast track to his modified "dream car" a world-wide sales network has been set up. In more than 50 countries the AC Schnitzer special accessories range is distributed through general importers and inside of Germany all parts can be ordered through the official BMW dealers.

Dealers order and fit AC Schnitzer parts in Germany. Would they mount parts if it would void warrenty? As I remember well there are only 2 tuners who keep warranty (JCW left out), one is AC Schnitzer and I think the other one is Alpina or Hartge. Can't find it where I read that, and maybe could be applicable only to BMW's. Sorry if I was too hasty with conclusions.

Well in South Africa it is a fact that you do not lose your warranty or TLC package at all!

This is defintley a value for money package that everyone is talking about in South Africa. 6,8 seconds is 130i territory!

MINI, it is a way of life.
