Offline | The 05 head should bolt right on though I doubt you will see any difference. Your camshaft question is a rather difficult one. Schrick camshafts, made in Germany are the best, but as to performance, that basically depends on what you want. A discussion with one of the site sponsors that specializes in engines might be a good idea. Roland of GTT comes to mind...... |

Offline | IMO there is no reason to change an 02 cyl head with an 05 one when they are exactly the same The only way to go is change the head with a modded one and also change the cam at same time..i am running a GTT stage 3 which is modded on a CNC and built with maximum oversized schrick valves, its also flowed and ported the porting is also done using a CNC...this is quite important as every chamber turns out the same i re-built the head fitting a schrick race cam its quite expensive around £1400 to this type of spec with these mods in place i gained around 30bhp and then another 5-6 with a re-map! the only other head worth bothering with is the MED engineering one but GTT is better because off the process! BTW the shrick cam needs the plug tubes modifyed for it to clear Mine maybe for sale if i decide to get an Evo ![]() |

| MINI2 Regular | Thanks boys. Look i had a problem, i am not from usa and here in our country it's not a lot of that spares for mini. I have bought the original 05 cylinder head and now (if realy goes on my 02 engine) i will give that head to ours rally "drivers and mechanics" here who are doing that heads for their cars. One friend put the JCW kit on his MCS 05 and sold me all that things for a little money. How that is on original head still camshaft? Does have a JCW another camshaft or what? Does go any bigger valves on this cylinderhead? Thank's to all your're great |

Offline | The JCW kit does come with a different camshaft, different valve springs but the valves are the same size. Good move giving your racing friends the head and see what they can do. Een just a "porting and polishing job will do stock heads a lot of good. If you want more performance you will need a different camshaft and different springs if you do not want to blow it up. But your racing friends will know that. |
