Thanks for your help in this matter John. One other question, both my repair manuals suggest that the O-ring on the throttle body should be replaced after removal. In your experience is that necessary?

No, I think it is more likely it has thread lock to keep the adjustment from slipping once set. It's a good idea even if you adjust it yourself.

Just take care when removing and all will be fine, put a little oil on the O ring on re-assembly, its a good solid O ring not a flimsy thin thing. I have had mine on and off several times with no leaks.

Pete, I would still do the VGS

John.

VGS is not the same thing. The VGS controls the opening/closing of the Bypass valve, where as the Bypass Valve Recalibration makes sure the Bypass valve is sealed properly, i.e. doing its actual job, rather than leaking boost. Why compress air only to lose it in a crappy BV.

By the way, wats the PCV in PCV hose stand for John?

I have trie to get at this valve but having a bit of trouble and would like some further verbal instructions if anyone is kind enough to give them, i can get the throttle body off ok with all hoses etc disconnected, i then found the valve and took out the two 10mm srews that run from bottom to top, i can see the hosing with the two circlips on there but i cant get any movement out of the valve as there just seems to be no space to move things, am i missing something?

Any help would be great and even some more pics

Cheers

Ok - with the VGS ive been there and done that.

Without looking at the BPV, iam convinced the thing is misaligned and going to attempt a 'fix' - any tips from u folks b4 i do this?

Something about using bolts for ic horns and somethign about having some hose clamps ready?

Interesting news.

The MCS i bought is 2nd hand.

When taking a look at the BPV and how its connected to the I/C horn i noticed there was a SCREW HOSE CLAMP!!! like the ones that come with the Alta CAI- not like those other funny hose clamps that comes with minis (once they're off , they're off). So to me it seems like the previous owner had a go at fixing this bpv.. not sure. It will be interesting to see when i open this thing up.
