Changing Spark Plugs

Hey, does anyone know any DIY info on changing sparks on a mcs?

Thanks in advance,
Elie

You'll need a 16mm socket on an extension. The torque setting (official) is 21lbs/ft. on a cold head.(I've read a 'rule of thumb' that says a quarter of a turn after feeling that you're gripping the crush washer will not be overdoing it but can't say from experience as I'm new to the MCS.) I plan to do this and check tightness whenever I'm under the bonnet as, apparently, there have been reported cases of plugs very occasionally working loose. Hope this helps.

Mr. BMW says 21 - but as you probably can't torque that accurately in a home workshop, by all means go with Mr. Haynes (and give Max the last word.) wink:

And as the inquiry came from Australia - Metric for more than 30 years - I guess it's a helpful fact to contribute. (Blame me for living in the past!)

thanks guys, much appreciated.

I thought it would be an easier job than that, maybe i'll just get BMW to do it when they do my pulley. So they can't blame me for incorrectly fitting them. They can get stingy.

Thanks again,
Elie

Dude.... REALLY simple job to do the sparkies.... but if you're getting them to do the pulley, get it done at the same time.
