Scotland JCW spark plugs and injectors

Hey all

Iv been offered a set of JCW spark plugs and injectors is it worth getting them and fitting the to my cooper s?

Iv got an Alta 15% reduction pulley, Alta CAI, just away to put on a JCW exhaust so is it worth putting them on?

ill be getting a remap soon aswell!

All advice welcome

Willie

Depends how much they are going to cost you - i have a set of colder iridium plugs and a set of 400 cc injectors on my S, but I have a lot more mods than you. The colder plugs are a good idea with the pulley mod (although I wouldnt necessarily buy JCW ones unless they were being offered cheap). You can buy iridium plugs from www.sparkplugs.co.uk.

The injectors are worth it if you plan to do more on your car over time.

Give me a shout sometime if you want to see the car and discuss mods

I'd definately put the JCW colder sparks with a reduced pulley, and 380cc JCW injectors will do it good, as the injectors can manage the extra fuel to match the increased air charge.

I have the JCW sparks, off ebay, cos they were bloody cheap. Where did you get the injectors from?

that's not bad at all. I'm gonna ring them up and ask how much it'll cost for just the injectors, as i have the JCW sparks, Alta CAI and MTH software already.

The reason i am getting them so cheap Elie is
because a boy i know bought the 200BHP works
kit then before he had even put the kit on decided
to upgrade to the 210BHP which includes new
injectors and spark plugs so he is selling me the
200BHP ones for 50 pounds!

As far as I can remember the 200 bhp works kit didnt come with modified injectors - so he wont have injectors to sell you (except the standard ones he takes out of his car to fit the 210bhp ones).

umm willie, the works 200bhp kit didn't come with special injectors, they were standard ones.

good idea Wish i could get some cheap injectors. Bloody doncaster mini parts/service are a bunch of tight arses. So rude on the phone. He said "price isn't listed" Then i said "umm..." then he cut me off, before i'd finished the sentence, and said "Nah BMW Australia are closed now. I didn't even mention them, all i said was umm. What a ******** . Rang up Melbourne BMW, very nice person, took my details, and said he'd get back to me. And this wasn't the first time.

So yeh anyway, waiting for a quote on the JCW injectors. Will let you know how much BMW charge.

Anyone adding larger injectors should have an ECU remap specifically designed for the injectors.

Miniac is right, yet when we run a stock injector map with the JCW injectors, the fuelling stays identical under open or closed loop up to around 6000rpm.
Above 6000rpm, whereas before it was just leaning a touch, with the 380cc injectors its perfect. BTW this is our 273bhp car That ecu is quite clever with the fuelling, pity its ignition retard systems aren't so effective.
Best regards Roland
