| Cooper S | New MCS Owner! Hi all! I have recently sold my Subaru Impreza UK300 and bought a 2003 MCS ![]() I've owned the car for about 2months now and have already made some changes but am looking to get some more power so had a few questions. The car is a 52 plate (Jan 03) MCS in Dark Silver, White Stripes & Roof. I have fitted some eibach springs, 18" HT3's and clear rear lenses. The car looks great now i feel ![]() Im now looking to get back up to the 200+ bhp mark so looking at options, i was thinking of Alta induction, smaller pulley?? and an exhaust. Can you give me your thoughts on what to get and what i can expect from this, for instance i know the exhaust and air filter can bolt straight on but will it need to be re-mapped for such mods especially the pulley?? Thanks in advance and nice to meet you all. Sy |

| New Mini Specialists | Hi, To get close to the 200 bhp you need to get a pulley and a remap (omitting all the other extra bits like belt, plugs etc) as that will take you straight to that point. Pretty much everyone (MINI tuners) offer a very similar "stage 1" package so it is down to personal choice who you choose. Although not necessary the re-map will help to release extra power from the pulley and make the conversion safer in the long run. A good remap should be able to cope with the pulley, induction kit and exhaust so if you did them all together then you should be good for 200+ I would recommend that you throw a panel filter to the combination as the basic addition, or for some extra cash go for the ALTA induction kit that you mentioned. Exhausts are all very similar in power gains and it is really down to look and sound that you want from your MINI. Hope this helps. Andrey Last edited by Lohen : Jan 9th, 2006 at 09:46 AM. |
