(Finally) fitted my Milltek cat-back!

Yup, after purchasing the item in the group buy aaaaages ago, I've finally got around to fitting it!

Installation was a doddle and although the tips initially touched the Aero bumper, after a bit of 'tweaking' all was sorted, and so far no rattles or any other unwanted noises at all - just pure Milltek goodness!

Here's some piccies:

After extensive testing , time for some R&R.

Well done
Now go and wash your poor MINI, or people will think the last 3 letters of your plate are 'PIT'

nice, and are you pleased with the sound so far?

The only problem I have is knowing which one to drive?

Just washed her...in the rain!

I'm very pleased with the sound - at idle there's just a subtle difference in note to stock, and anything below 4000rpm-ish (as scooby says ) is again very similar to stock (although definately with some added boom - but not too much) but then when you let rip above 4k, it develops into something really quite different to stock. Makes the acceleration seem more frantic.

Oh, and I'm convinced it pulls better at lower revs (especially noticed in 6th).

On the looks side, those tailpipes are gorgeous, and look much bigger in real life - finishes off the rear imho.

You're a bad influence Rakey!

There's just so much I want to do, that it's a job to know which order to do them in! Mind you, my biggest concern is going too far, and spoiling the car.

But seeing as you ask, I reckon a trip to Lohen for suspension is next on the cards!

You now need the JCW Air intake, that makes the whole thing work well with all the right noises and ups the HP. and warrantee is completely unaffected apart from the zorst of course.

goonery - already got the K&N CAI fitted (as supplied by Rakey )

Rakey - Yup, wheels (along with those horrid tyres) will be changed at some point...as soon as I can make my mind up on what wheels to change them with!

In that case lighter wheels/tyres will be an asset , then do brakes.

goonery - I'm thinking I'll sort out some new wheels/tyres when the weather gets a bit (lot) nicer, and have them for Summer use and then the S-spokes/runshats for winter use. Brakes are defo on the cards also.

ollymale - thankyou. Yup, very similar to JCW, although I believe the Milltek tips are a bit bigger.

Yeah, I've had it lying around at home for sooo long! Glad I've finally got it sorted though.

Just added to your rep mate, as a way of saying thankyou for going to all the trouble of arranging that group buy.

As I said in my original post, the tips were just brushing the Aero bumper initially, but this was easily resolved. All-in-all, a doddle.

Just out of interest how did you resolve the fitment problem. I'm thinking of getting the Milltek myself and have the aero kit but have been concerned by the fitment issues people have mentioned before.

It was acceptable in the 80's

On the hangers at the back, just added in a couple of nuts, which dropped the whole thing nicely.
