![]() Taller Than You! | Lohen & GTT Manifold Well just got back from Lohen after having the GTT Manifold fitted. Boy what a difference its made! I was very VERY suprised with the gains. 1. Noise at least twice as loud as before (providing your planting your right foot) However motorway cruising can be as silenty as before. 2. Free-er reving engine, the revs seems to pile on a lot quicker. The midrange and top-end are quicker too. All together very very impressed. Just my emissions light has stayed on it didn't at first but now its been on for 70 miles or so, is this likely to dissapear after some time? Many thanks to Lohen for doing such a good job late on a Friday too. There new place is great make sure you check it out! PHOTO COMPARISON BELOW: GTT Manifold ![]() ![]() Stock Manifold ![]() |

| MINI2 Senior | The manifold worked faultlessly on my car; no emissions lights in the long run, but I know that when I first had this installed the emissions light came on until I had a remap from MTH to take account of the manifold That said, I was running a MTH map to start with and not a JCW one, so I don't know what the JCW map is capable of. Also, I've heard that when not running an appropriate remap, the emissions light could come on sporadically until the ECU has adapted new parameters (few hundred miles or so). Cheers, Henry |

Offline | Dont worry Henry, the light is not related to the manifold or cat anyway. The emissions light comes on due to feedback from the first 'upstream' sensor. (ie before the cat). You can have an MCS with no cat at all (ie de-cat pipe fitted) and the light doesn't come on atall ,or you could have another car with brand new stock cats and the light DOES come on. It is just a 'flag' to say the ENGINE is/has pumped out emissions 'beyond BMWs strict levels set for a STANDARD car'. Usually no fault code shows with the light. The light takes a while to clear as although emissions may be ok again, it goes through numerous drive/check cycles before the ecu will extinguish it. High boost cars particularly if the fuel is 'iffy' or if you floor it before the engine is fully warmed, it can trigger the 'flag'. TBH the light can stay on all the time ,it doesnt effect anything,if it bothers you just do a reset with your scan tool. | MINI2 Senior | Thanks Roland for the technical lowdown; I'll be the first to admit that all this stuff is a bit beyond my understanding It makes absolute sense though and is certainly in line with my experience.Andy, great to hear that you like the manifold so much. You have to thank Roland really though for engineering such an awesome piece of manifoldery (if there is such a word!) ![]() I have to admit I was also very surprised by the gains from just adding the GTT manifold to my car; it really pulled hard mid to top range as you describe. The stock manifold is WAY too restrictive, especially if you have any headwork Enjoy hugely Henry |
