15% Pulley with Standard Map

Any1 running a 15% pulley with the standard ECU map?
installing the pulley at the wkend, so wondering how much difference in makes to the cars performance and also about engine wear issues, as i've been told it makes cause problems

cheers

As I understand it no problem using the std map..... however benefits to be had with a correct map.

You also want to now change your spark plugs to be one heat range colder see this link....

I have been running 17% with standard ECU sw and it ran fine with much more power and torque. Only changed because I bought the upgrade kit which gave me JCW intake and injectors and JCW software.

15% pulley on a standard Map is ok been running it for over year - But it does run better with an aftermarket exhaust and intake.

Can run with standard map...does run a lot better (far better power readings and torque) with better intake and reworked map though!

yep, to about 2 1/2 hrs. not a problem would advise any1 to have a go. Don't think you need the special tools that you see . a good pinchbar to take tension off the belt. then a bearing puller (not sure if these are cheaper than the purpose tools advertised) to remove the pulley. I bought a tool but think i was not needed

I have been running with Alta 15% pulley more than 6 months, together with Alta CAI, Alta exhaust, Ignition upgrade, no problem so far..

However; recently I got my JCW injections (Great improvement) and I spoken to my local MINI tuning house, they can upgrade the ECU with Superchips new firmware to suit my modification..

Try local tuning house for Superchip upgrade!
