Offline | Cooper tuning packages Hi guys, I'm thinking about maybe doing some performance mods on my '03 Cooper. I've just done a Typhoon so far (bit of a difference but minor) and Magnex exhaust (but took it off 'cos I didn't like the extra noise, and it didn't increase the power much at all ).I'm hoping to get a good bit more acceleration in 2nd/3rd/4th, and also (if possible) more torque in 3rd/4th, but more acceleration is more important ![]() Ive looked into Superchips etc., but they only provide marginal barely noticeable gains, so I'm looking at maybe a full performance package from somwhere. The question is, what package, and where from? I'm in Leeds if that makes any difference! I'd be looking to spend up to £1500 inc. vat and fitting. Anyone have any suggestions? ![]() ![]() |

Offline | As a guide approx. what BHP do you think my Cooper would be at now, with just the K&N Typhoon added (and lighter Toyo T1S Tyres) and nothing else performance/engine-wise alterered? ![]() |

| Keep on Coopering | Get yourself a MTH sports manifold icw the remap. Significant increase in torque. That is what makes you accelerate. Check with the UK sponsor side. I also noted that a dyno day is being organised. Don't know whether that is convenient for you to go to, but this could be the occasion to check out the different options and results. Dyno day topic: http://www.mini2.com/forum/engine-drivetrain-tuning/107608-dyno-day-2nd-april-every-mini-welcome.html Emergency procedure: put head between your legs, and kiss your ass goodbye. |

Offline | mini madness Mini Madness I know has a package I think it is 155 hp and it looks ok. Also MTH has a 160 hp package if I am not mistaken. I haven't tried any of them so I can't tell you wether they are good or bad, but its worth checking them out. I hope that helps you a bit ![]() |

Offline | JCW kit would be cool for the name only, but v. overpriced! Si: any idea how much all that lot will cos inc. fitting and what sort of gains in acceleration and torque I'd see? Any increase in noise? What does "no exchange and working on used parts" mean? The "special software" is no doubt your MTH ECU remap adapted to all the new goodies? ![]() ![]() |
