Last Friday I had a Borla Race exhaust installed at
http://centralcoastcoopers.com/. Thanks to Randy of M7 for talking me in to getting the Race instead of the street version. It's not to loud (and I am 40 years old) and it sounds super sweet. It has a very deep and throaty sound. It reminds me of a CR 500 I raced years ago. My '05
MCS pops, banges and burbles even more now when I chop the throttle. During steady throttle driving, like a long street or on the freeway, it is very quiet and doesn't drone as long as you are in the right gear. It also looks super sweet. It's bigger, polished and it sticks out of the rear valence 4 or 5 inches. Another benefit, which I didn't expect is the weight reduction off the very back end of the car. I makes the chassis more balanced and the front end doesn't push quite so bad in corners when you are putting a lot of power down. I can also feel better acceleration in the low and mid RPM range. I don't know if this is from more HP or if it's from better grip in the front tires because of a more balanced chassis. At first I got a lot of tiny shinny particles on the back of my car but after about 200 miles of driving I am not getting very much. I am guessing it is the packing from the mufflers. I couldn't be happier with this exhaust. Now I want to drive my car 24/7!
