Aside from the hose looking cool (in Red, Black, or Blue), wound I really notice a difference? If so, what does it really change? HP, sound...? Thanks.

From what I have read in the past, the hose is actually larger and allows for a little more air to flow by. It also allows for a smooth passage for the air to go into and not have anything blocking the air. i.e. the stock hose is not smooth inside has folds in the hose to slow the flow of air.

The more flow requirements your engine has the more it will matter.
If the intake is all you have it is OK to run without the hose.
I've run my ALTA with and without the hose. Mildly modded motor.

The OEM hose on my '02 car is smooth on the inside just a smaller diameter.
