Offline | Can't hear induction noise. I have had my JCW Sound kit for about 4 months now and love it. The exhaust note is great. However, I have noticed a lot of other 'sound kiters' saying that their air intake makes a great sound. I can't really here anything. If I blip the throttle while standing half outside my MINI I can here a slight suction noise. But I can't hear anything inside my MINI. Am I missing out on somthing? ![]() |

| 8/10 on the Stoogometer | u've probably been listening to ppl with induction kits on there MCSs. The supercharger whine becomes a lot louder, whereas on a naturally aspirated car u'll get a slight suction noise and a deeper tone when you put ur foot down Black MCS |

| Syd | I have a direct comparison of my MCS JCW210 and my girlfriend's MC Park Lane JCW. The Cooper does sound far better, especieally the exhaust. I did have my MCS on a rolling road at the rev limit (7200??) in 4th, it showed 215 -218 bhp at the front wheels and was ****ing loud! (more the s/c, rather than induction roar). The only thing, which I think could be improved would be the exhaust note, as long as that doesn't take away the "poppling".................... |

Offline | On forced induction vehicles induction kits tend to not have the sucking that NA engines have. My old minis were louder for induction roar running K&N filters onto webber twinchoke 38/40's than any of the S's I have heard so far. The increased charger noise drowning out the induction is the most obvious reason I can think of. From inside the cabin this will be even more appreciated as the soundproofing will stop the increased suck to a degree and then the dominating charger noise drowns whats left. SimonSyddall - From what I have heard of aftermarket exhausts like the milltek both with and without sports manifold the popping only gets deeper and better check this link out! 1st is without a sports cat/manifold and the second is with a non stock manifold/cat http://www.2beesoft.com/familie/bert...ek/milltek.wmv http://www.2beesoft.com/familie/bert...th_milltek.wmv Ohhh...its enough to make you slobber and then go and rob a bank so you can buy one today! |
