Scotland Bluefin VS Traditional ECU re-maps

Hello everyone

Its time for me to re-map my ECU so that i can get the most out of my engine mods

I cant decide if i should go for the Bluefin, Dastek or other ECU specialists that
map your car live on the rolling road while your there.

Bluefin:

There are many good points when choosing this route and some bad.
  • The unit gets sent to your door already with the map on it.
  • Simple to do
  • Takes 5 mins
  • Is alot cheaper than the likes of Dastek.
  • Can be removed easily before services etc and put back on so that BMW dont sulk and void warrenty
However
  • No two cars are the same so your car may not get alot out of the bluefin
  • Its alot easier to get the most out of the car when mapped live on the rollers
  • Can change rev limit, fueling and generally alot more when mapped on rolling road.
Bad points for bluefin mean good points for the others!

All opinions welcome especially those with the bluefin and those who have decided to
go for the likes of Dastek and other ECU specialists that map the car on the rolling
road whilst your there.

Thanks

Willie

I went for the Bluefin last month.

I see the fact that you can take it off and load it back on again in 5 mins a great plus point. The unit is very neat, and can be stored in your car so that when you need to remove the map, you can. It's easy to use too, simple instructions on screen to guide you through.

It really is a fantastic upgrade, and, for the price, great value.

I don't have any experience on the other re-maps, but I have to say the Bluefin sold itself to me with the option of removal and adding infinite times !! .

Good luck deciding which one is best for you dude, whatever you decide, I'm sure you'll enjoy it !! .

Ive also had the Bluefin done like Dave (hi again!) Id recommend the upgrade to anyone prob the best £299 ive spent on my car!!

Take your comments on board though about rolling roads, alot harder to change those sort of remaps back though thats the main advantage on the Bluefin

After reading a lot of info on here, I'm going for a bluefin. There is a group buy thread in the marketplace, get yourself on there and you should get it for £269 inc. deliivery.
