Hey, I have a 163bhp Cooper S which is currently stock- i want to add a bit of power and was thinking of a chip/ ecu upgrade- I'm sure this has been asked a million times but which is best?? MTH (link below) have a software upgrade for 174Euro which gives 190bhp- Has anybody experience of this or anything similar? Cheers!!

I'd be interested to know too, guy I work with does ecu remaps and claims a minimum ouput of 196bhp from a standard S. He is able to tweak the remap til you are satisifed. I just wonder would the mth remap be better?

I have a jcw flappy air filter and jcw exhaust, would this make any difference?

196 bhp just from a remap! that would be fantastic - add a pulley on top and your up at works level no?

From experience I can tell you MTH will NOT deliver the power they claim. It doesn't feel bad either and it will be difficult to get around them if you want software only for that price. But don't expect the HP they promise and you'll be ok.

Here some charts but not with a MCS with MTH Standard File, but you'll get the picture. They don't get close to the JCW, not even with pulley (15%) and manifold.

This is had been discussed many many times before........ just do a search........
General opition is that MTH do very good software upgrades however note the word APPROX on the web site...... you will get approx 190 BHP.........
