Does anyone have or know the k&n official code?
I think I can get a good hook up on the price!
Thanks

K&N model # RU-3130, tapered cone filter. Cost in Vancouver is $35 CDN, or about 16.5 GBP.

I recently contacted K&N, inquiring about a JCW filter replacement. They do not make nor do they plan to make such a filter. The RU-3130 is a general purpose high flow filter which can be adapted to the JCW airbox.

Just got a reply from Mini madness about the fitment of their filter element, sounds like a good job.

"Thanks for the inquiry. The filter attaches with a band clamp and is very secure. This is a direct fit replacement, no permanent mods at all.

Thanks

It is a bargain compared to the price of the JCW paper filter - and it can be cleaned and reused.

Surely it is worthwhile spending a few extra bucks over the K&N filter to have a direct replacement that requires no mods to the airbox.

You have to take the Madness claim that the "JCW replacement paper filter costs $170 to replace" with a grain of salt, as an OEM replacement filter can be purchased for $90.

There is also the $80 ITG reusable 3-stage foam filter.

I think the Madness filter is the best choice but is still overpriced.

It's $19 more than the ITG filter and that will get you a cleaning kit

From minimadness.com, cant we order online from UK?

MINIAC
$19 is like less than £10 quid here, thats like less than two hours work if you only earn the minimum wage in the UK.

we could try organising a group buy if theres enough interest from us UK guys??? Though I'd like mine sooner rather than later.

Some of us are on fixed incomes

BTW ... the GTT filter is $103 here in the US. That's about £54 ... £15 cheaper than GTT's price

Any group buy would have to set up with a MINI2 sponsor.

Fixed income, yet you drive a cooper S and have the works air box fitted, pull the other one mate
