JCW Cone Air Filter Ordered! - Now Fitted!!!

Bit the Bullet this morning and ordered myself a JCW cone filter, reduced to £99 bit of a bargain from the JCW website

Anyone else fitted one of these? Expecting a lot more sound mainly, what about BHP increase wise? Not much im guessin

Will post pics when it arrives cant wait

The sound is awesome

I had it fitted to my ONE and it sounds very loud and sporty - make sure you keep the windows down for best effect! Put your foot to the floor and people a mile away know that your coming! If you've heard the Cooper Challenge races it begins to sound very much like them as they use the same air filter. Very deep and throaty sound..

Feel pretty bad if driving home at night as i'm most likely waking the neighbours up

Only problem is it does start to make a hole in the bonnet lining - went to JCG and they said they all do this and there's nothing you can do about it.. They also said they haven't had one burn right through!

Excellent looking forward to it now!! Yeah read before about it making a hole in the lining not too fussed though could always cut a small patch out i guess!

Mines a MINI One too so should expect similar results How much did you pay for urs £99? Easy to fit I take it???

Read a couple of posts about this (on this particular filter) Someone has mentioned it's a valid JCW product so therefore wont affect Warranty, others say it isn't

Personally im going to remove the Air Filter before it goes in for it's next service, which is 11k / a year away anyway!!

I got the air filter fitted free at John Cooper Garages - but apparently it's pretty simply to fit, I think they send instructions with it anyway..

It's up to the dealer if this will effect your warrenty or not but I don't think they'd be bothered with it - JCW fitted it to my ONE and they said the dealers wouldn't mind, if it was fitted by them or yourself makes no difference.

Like GR33NIE said if you are bothered simply put the original air filter back on before servicing

A bit of a warning though - I kept my windows down, listening to the sound, so much that I ended up with flu!

It also sounds awesome with the windows up but even more so when they are down

No didn't get one of those but isn't it a cold feed anyway since the air filter has much bigger holes to let the air in?

Anyway here is a photo of mine, sorry about the dirty engine bay - needs cleaning badly!

OK so picked the filter up today, was meant to hit the gym tonight but couldn't wait to fit it!!

Just taken it out for quick spin, MY WORD!!! Very loud! Amazed with the sound much better than expected Recommend one of these to anyone Not too tricky to fit once those annoying jubilee clips come off the existing pipes!

Pic here!:

you're the person I have to ask my q !
-does it needs to be oiled?
-how is the low-rew noise? I mean, cruising in town at 2500-3000....is it noisy?
-do you have to remove all the airbox? upper and lower part?
-has it any works logo on it?

-do you have to remove all the airbox? upper and lower part? Yes the whole airbox comes out, with a little bit of force it's not too tricky
-has it any works logo on it?

Nope no logo, it's on the JCW Website if you need more info

Hope this all helps
