goodafternoon to all,
today i went to a local dealer to get my mini upgraded.once they had pulled off the factory pulley and replacedit with a 15% Alta one, they told me that my supercharger needs replacing along with the top left engine mount[left hand drive] under warranty luckily.i am also changing the original spark plugs with ngk colder version and getting an ecu remap.since i am waiting for the supercharger to arrive from germany[none in stock they told me] the car is sitting there. what i would like to know is the downside of this upgrade.i am a bit sceptical now having read some posts about future water pump problems, possibly overheating or belt slipping etc.any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Don't fret over those negative claims; you have something to look forward to and be excited about. 40,000 miles on a 15% reduction pulley and 14,000 miles with a 19% reduction pulley, no problems with my experience.

As long as the belt drive system is healthy, accelerated belt wear will be minor. That's only an increased maintenance issue not a potential disadvantage.
