DIY Supercharger

I am going to fit a mini cooper s supercharger onto my VW lupo 1.4.

Ive been doing alot of reading up on ur site, and ive answered alot of questions, but the one thing that is getting to me is the BYPASS VALVE.

Now i see its a good idea to have one so it doesnt put strain onto the supercharger wen you close the throttle body, but as im fitting one to my 1.4 i dont have a bypass valve built in like you do on your minis.

How do you think i would go about trying to fit one? could i use a dump valve on the pipe from the intercooler going to the throttle body, to act as a bypass valve, plumb it into a vacuum pipe so that wen i lift off the throttle there is a vacuum in the inlet manifold therefore opening the dump valve - making a nice ****ST sound, and releasing any uneeded boast, will the dump valve stay open as long as there is a vacuum and close wen there isnt a vacuum (wen i press the throttle)?

I believe the lupo has a 10.4 compression ratio,so in order to s/charge it you will need new pistons, you will not be able to fudge it with gaskets,we have done a turbo conversion on a polo gti (the only one) for a customer and had to get pistons made.but it can be done.so good luck with your project

also a tip is to just remove metal from top of pistons to get compression down, but in the end I'd just reccomend new custom forged pistons, it's actually not allthat expensive to have them made in that small size.

rods is another thing you will probably need to change, I have no idea how the stock ones are.. but its a luop probably not highperformance.

to be honest I'd hunt down a GT engine, the new twincharged 170HP from vw and just slap it in.
