DIY twin cooler

Just a couple of pics of the new twin cooler being installed ,(part of our 275 hi torque conversion) the cooler is both water cooled(charge cooler),hence 2 extra rads, and air cooled(intercooler),its weight is incredibly light, good for over 30 bhp over stock and more importantly a 25% increase in torque over stock,it drops the inlet temp over 60 degrees c.We are still trying variations with ducting and coolants etc to get even more out of it-safe consistant power with reliability, interested? give us a call-Adam

If you're using XP try the Microsoft Image Resizer. PM me your e-mail address and I'll send it to you (only 521k) Once you loaded it you can right click any image on your computer and select resize pictures. You then have the option of a few default sizes.

Nicely turned out unit. It is large which brings up the equestion of lost boost do to the extra volume. This was one of the downfalls of the front mount systems . Any idea as to how many pounds gone?

the unit is a piece of art,we have been testing all week and now added a 3rd extra radiator re routed water flow, tried different pumps with increased flow, made a new header tank, looked at air exit flow to escape the underbonnet area, tried various coolants, and mixes, the result is simply awesome, for the sceptics out there (most of the known world )we will be dyno testing the car,(despite my loathing dynos )at Amd as the dyno there has done many Minis and is accurate (the works cooper s)makes 195 bhp (not all some variations but close to)so it will give a good representation of power increase.please dont start a discussion about dynos as I said I loath them and they kill engines.I strongly believe if you cant feel the difference driving then you have failed and should either take off what you have fitted or give the customer the money back-so far not one customer has driven back for the money!

Greg- no lost boost whatsoever fmic can have pressure drops ,usually due to the ducting to and from them ,and end tank design flaws, this is not the case here

This was installed at fabs car and appeared at the 1st PanHellinic new MINI meet @ VOLOS.
According to the owner, he can't exactly "feel" the extra power (this car was supposed to be in the region of 260bhp before installation) but his car now runs very cool. He said that even if you press hard on to the car it still stays relatively cold to the touch.
