Fitted my GTT manifold (loads of pics)

Hello dudes!

Just bought a GTT manifold from supercharged99 anyway my mate and me
decided we would tackle fitting it ourselves instead of paying someone else to
do it, im glad we did it ourselves learnt alot!

The only trouble we ran into was due to the state of two rusty bolts that connected
the manifold the the exhaust! They just wouldnt turn and they were just falling apart
with ever touch! was pretty disapointing really! Anyway out came the grinder and
the drill, and they were then replaced with some lovely new STAINLESS steal
ones

Here are some pics of our adventure:

GTT manifold:

Old and new:

1 of 2 rusty bolts that caused havoc:

One of many techniques tried to overcome these:

Eventually out came the grinder: (dont try this at home)

My mate hard at work:

Cooper s over the pitt:

GTT sports cat, fitted:

GTT manifold in position before heat shield replaced:

Last min check before strut brace etc replaced:

What we had to do: (some of which unnecessary!)

Remove the following:

Strut brace
Heat shields
Coil pack
Lamba sensors
Standard manifold (Finally)

Then:

Replace all gasgets
Fit GTT manifold
Replace lamba sensors
Modify heat shield

Iv probably missed some of the things we did, has been a long day!

The results are very good, more responsive lower down and feels generally
quicker! the sound is lovely considering the exhaust is standard

Not the prettiest header in the world but it looks very functional. Is the cat Stainless and what is the exit diameter? I wish the dollar exchange wasn't so bad now.

Good job on the install.

Well fitted guys, ! We use a ground down 15mm ring spanner & loads of WD40.,so no need for grinding off anything (yet !).
Go West ... note this was a secondhand item. Check our website to view it when new . Its the only TIG welded one I know of.
Best Regards Roland GTT

Yeah this is a second hand item guys! yeah we did use loads of WD40, and tried
heating them up! Just wouldnt give.

My mates Dad is a qualified welder and the first thing he said was:

"Thats a quality piece of kit, the've used TIG welding intstead of MIG - very tidy!"

And he doesnt give compliments easily haha!!

Here is the GTT manifold Brand new:

Any chance you'd be able to record how it sounds with the new Manifold?

Good job that man!

Very tempted myself, although worried it'll be a bit on the loud side with my Milltek cat-back. Plus I've got a few other mods lined up first.

well fitted, only just managed to keep the grinder at bay doing mine!!!

One point, on mine there was about a 10-15mm gap between the cat-flange and exhaust centre pipe flange, when bolting the two together(with manifold bolted on at the head and the exhaust in its fixed position) i just used the 2 bolts to pull the exhaust and manifold together, did you have this problem???

Not sure if i will be causing extra strain on the manifold flex part??? Should i re-drill the exhaust centre mount plate so that there is less strain on the whole system??

Whats your cat-back exhaust system? Mines JCW!

I had this exact same problem approx a 1cm gap we ended up using a flange spacer as tighening would put way too much stress on the flexi joint, possibly damaging it.

The exhaust hanger snapped so i was'nt giving them any excuses not to fix it,
they would have just said you've been tampering with the exhaust so we aint fixing
it.

the car is back and all fixed free of charge so im gonna put heat wrap on the
manifold then put it back on.

Hello
Thanks for reply.
I´m thinking put 4-2-1 Sports Manifold + Intermediate CAT Pipe John Cooper Motorsport. In your opinion it is a good choice?

But first I go to put GTT JCW airbox

Note:I have Kit JCW 210Hp

Best Regards
