New Zealand Is this safe

Could some one tell me if this set up is ok. Currently i have a pipercross air filter with heat shield, im looking at upgrading the hosing from the throttle body to the airfilter. The standard intake pipe has a hose running from it up to the rocket cover. The question is can i replace the stock air intake pipe with an aftermarket hose and instead of running a pipe from that to the rocket cover install a K&N airfilter on the outlet of the rocket cover. Attached is a pic of an example of the filter which would be used.

Depends on your definition of "safe" - the breather pipe from the rocker cover is designed to extract fumes from the rocker cover (and hence fom the sump) & suck them in with the air to burn them, rather than allow them to build up, or just vent them to atmosphere. If you replace it with an air filter, it will a) be working in reverse, & b) probably get very oily & dirty very quickly. It's not going to affect performance one way or another, I don't think, but quite happy to be corrected on this point!

It can increase emission and if the EPA finds out...heh heh heh *rubbing hands Mr Burns style* plus no noticeable performance increase.

New Zealand Emissions

I'm not trying to gain performance by changing the hosing and adding the airfilter it's mainly for looks, i just don't want it to damage the car. A friend on here has done the same thing i thought i'd just get other peoples feedback about the modifications
