I had no leakage of any sort in the engine bay, no oil or fluids. BMW replaced the lambda sensor behind the catalytic converter. It was showing a low readout which supposedly caused the ECU to over rich the fuelmixture. Made a slight improvement but it has not totally gone away. According to the mechanics they have seen similar spots on other JCW MCS's and BMW M5's. It is not an oily deposit and washes off easily. The car is running beautifully and I have stopped worrying about it. It may have something to do with the fuel we have here in South Africa, the highest rating we get is 95 RON which is really the minimum grade recommended for high performance engines. In your case, maybe they spilt some oil when doing the oil change. Suggest you clean the engine and then check if it shows again. If you start with a clean engine it will also be easier to find the source of a leak. If it just had a service the oil should not show black on the dipstick. If the head gasket is leaking you may get coolant water mixed with the oil which normally shows a milky colour. Suggest clean it, check it and take it back to the dealer if the problem persists. Good luck!

Cheers, blue max...i'll try and wash my engine bay (juz jet spray it right?heh). That engine oil might be the result of the recent "car cruise" i had with some other jap cars...heh!!!anyways, i'll probably go and have another service and change the oil with the garage nearby and see the result.

Thank you very very much!!!heh
