| fr34king n00b! | "In 2006 the TEAM MINI weapon of choice is the magnificent Chilli Red MINI Cooper S with John Cooper Works Tuning Kit. In pure factory spec it’s good for 154 kW and an impressive 0-100 km/h in 6.4 seconds. But the TEAM MINI cars are fitted with a host of John Cooper Works go-faster gear including brakes, suspension and exhaust systems, so all we can say is batten down the hatches, lock up your daughters, look both ways before you cross and head for the hills. Oh, mum also said never to leave home without clean underwear" Taken from www.mini.com.au |

Offline | Sub-6 sec Mods! Hmmmm....you pose an interesting question. One quirky little world immediately springs to mind...QUAIFE! A pretty expensive installation - but a car transforming one! To go Sub-6 I'd be looking at the following: (1) Quaife diff (2) Sticky tyres (3) 15% pulley (4) Remap (5) Decent CAI (6) Headers & sports cat (7) Free-flow exhaust all the way back (8) Higher lift cam (9) Larger bore throttle body Optional: (10) Head work (11) Lightened flywheel (12) Bigger intercooler (13) Driving lessons! Sub-6 in the Mini requires a wade of cash - this is a "corners baby" not a dragster! Brakes & suspension work are what really make these monsters fly - the law of diminishing returns really starts to kick in on engine work - each successive bhp becoming increasing expensive - reaching the point where you'd be better off ploughing your hard-earned into a higher spec platform in the first place like an old Porsche 930 or 944 turbo - easy 350 - 400 bhp machines with the traction & balance to put it all down. Well that's 2 cents worth. |

| 8/10 on the Stoogometer | wouldn't bother with the throttle body IMO, but those mods look really good otherwise. However, i think the head work would be very good for real power. I'd definately get head work done before an intercooler or throttle body if i was looking for really big power. Black MCS |

| Yeah...I know !!! | I did a 6.1 sec 0 to 60mph with GGR conversion (15% pulley Superchip remap) full Milltek exhaust , Alta Induction and 18" Superlegeras wheels only did 2 runs 1st run was 6.3 secs second 6.1 secs , first time just floored it and second time revs at idle , proberbly would have got under 6 secs with practice my mate Dink got a 5.93 sec with 15% reduction pulley , re-map, 7k rev-limit, full milltek system & alta air intake , 17" team dynamics wheels , road tyres This was done at Mini in the Park a couple of years ago with proper timing gear ![]() |

| 8/10 on the Stoogometer | its your n00bness holding you back Pete!I think i need some springs and a swaybar to get me sub-6 But on a serious note, i'll be timing a 0-100 run with my mods as they are now + a fixed engine and tires, and i'll be interested to see what time i get. I got 7 secs flat (which is a bit pessimistic time, as i dumped the clutch when my mate said "Go"), with absolutely bald runflats timed on a stopwatch, but i need to get a G-Tech to properly time.... Offline | I think you may get a supprise or two, look at my FPV here are two pictures one with it in race trim(this is at Bathurst) and the second one is how i drove it to work and back everyday. 400-410 kw or approx 550bhp depending on what tune i have in it torque or HP. and everyday it ran std exhaust system except for the headers.this ran consistant 12-12.5 sec 400m passes with street tyres. cheers michael ![]() ![]() |

Brakes & suspension work are what really make these monsters fly ] Penguin is bang on. Its not a Dragster. Its a corner cutter with a Rally history. You will look foolish pluging hard earned money into it to perform in a way its not intended and still having your **** smoked on the short strip track. |
