Question Break in and JCW engine conversion for Cooper S

I and my fiance have placed our order for the Cooper S and expect to take delivery in March or April depending on allocation. I've put the pressure on the dealer to get it to us quick cause I want to enter it in the Gumball 3000. Final dates for the Gumball haven't been released yet, but the expectation is that it'll be at the end of April just like last year (was a blast btw ).

My question is this. Because the JCW conversion is so exhaustive, replacing the head and assorted breathing apparatus, is it entirely necessary to break in the engine before the conversion or can I execute the conversion then break the engine in before racing from San Fran to Miami? I ask because my dealer can't, yet, assure me of when I'll receive my car and I want to have some fun in the mountains of California. Maybe I should just call and ask JCW monday?

Thanks bunches.

Firstly, good luck for next year you lucky git!!

secondly, yes you do have to get it run in twice as such.

Have you ordered your Conversion yet, because they are not now getting realeased till the new year and if you are not at the top of the list the timing might be tight for you for the start of the run

just got off the phone. apparantly there won't be any difficulty getting the parts in the US, or at least according to the man on the phone at JCW. according to the same chap i won't need to break it in twice due to the completeness of the overhaul. just thought i'd let you know. cheers.
