BMC carbon fibre dynamic airbox

Quote:
The BMC features a carbon fibre surround designed to protect the filter from heat from the engine. By keeping the air that travels through the filter cool, the air remains dense, which in turn improves performance amd efficiency. The carbon fibre surround looks great too!

The BMC induction kit also comes with a cold air pipe which can be attached to the front of the car to give a direct air feed from the front of the car to the filter.

The BMC induction kit offers all the performance features found on other kits yet at an inexpensive price.

Does anyone have one of these, ive never come across it before. does it work anybetter than just a filter? and whats it sound like?

yeah i have it in my car, so do my brother an other friends overhere. The panel inside the cylinder is a K&N and the cylinder itself is made of CF. Its a bit tricky to install as you have to remove completely the previous air system including the resonator. To make the installation almst professional i recomend to use two ¿elbows? ( thats the direct transalation from spanish ) i mean a 90º tube, to avoid air loses, instead of using the flexible tube provided. Whit this filter you take the cold air from the bottom of the car and not from the inside of the engine bay. It makes the way longer for the air to arrive but this is what makes it a real cold air intake.
here you have a link where you can see the photos of the install.

In this case my friend took the air form the fog light hole but its even hard to do it this way ( and no more efective). Altough you see in the pics he broke the resonator it can be removed in one piece but you will have to tilt it firmly to do it

i hope this can be of any help. As i said i´m spanish and i dont know if i have enough english level to explain it properly.

Regards,

Alvaro

hello,
it is not quite complicated since you have to disassemble the whole frontal and some things of plastic of the motor to make pass the tube up to where this.

A greeting
