from what i can tell it's not got air con.

topmounts are designed to reduce the pipework and reduce lag, if you have ever driven a mini hard and then pulle dover and felt the intercooler they are rarely very warm that is because of the position of the scoop a lot of air is forced into it.

I did look at a front mount project myself and gave up it looked way too difficult....
I was going to make new pipes out of the supercharger to leave the space on top of the engine for ram effect air pipes to a sealed air filter box.

the one you refer to with the carbon fiber tubes sounds like the one that Randy Webb was selling. The problem with that one was that the end pieces that are clamped to the cast " horns " on the engine would eventually get brittle from all the flexing and finaly crack then begin to leak. There is one guy here in the states that is still trying to run that system but having a tough time. His last outing at Vegas Motor Speedway lasted a lap before he had to pull off the track and replace it with the stock one. Apparently it did look spectacular while it was on.

Personally I wouldn't be too keen (as I've told Josh off-forums) in sticking a 19% on his car... he has one of the very early Cooper S's (i.e. the first "revision" of the chargers).

mate you sound a lot like me!

I live in lower Templestowe, and i've seen your car parked a few times outside a house near carluccis etc (templestowe shopping centre i think). That's when I first saw it. I was driving with my mate and he said "that's what your car should look like."

Seriously you should come when we catch up for spins with Dan, Micky, Kev, Marty, etc (not clubMINI runs, just catchups for coffee etc).

BTW, i like that attitude about the 19%. ( i can almost guarentee it won't blow up, especially if you don't drive it that hard). Although i've taken that attitude to the extreme a bit, cos mine hasn't been what you'd call perfect .

A better attitude would be, just bl00dy do it first and if it blows up, replace it with something bigger all parts will fail over time....it's only a matter of when lol. It's not like the SC will become the next Mir space station.

Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger. But in our case of SCs, if it blows up, replace it with something smaller

Anyways, i think Josh hasn't exactly held back on his MCS. Why start now?

I wouldn't do it, it's probably just as unique if you moulded a new dash top in carbon fibre or just plain old fibreglass (painted in some sort of colour...I dunno) and with the gauge pods integrated there?

Yeah like taking your eyes off the road just to glance the gauges up there

i also thought about moulding the dash like you said i reckon that looks awesome to ! but it has been done a few to many times for my liking ! well see what happens just pondering the thought for now .................
im not to worried about taking my eyes of the road for a sec, we all do it, some just not to look at gauges instead to change the radio or adjust the heater. if it was a really fast car where i needed heaps of concentration then i agree 100% that the gauges are in the wrong spot

josh ..........

I'd say mould it on the dash not somewhere there's an airbag lurking about...the last thing you wanna have in an accident is a few metal objects (gauges) flying straight into your face at 2-300km/h!
